SEASON B

EAST

1. 2001 New Jersey Nets
Record: 52-30

Jason Kidd could move a basketball to the open man faster then anyone in his prime and his MVP like season with the Nets took this team to the brink. We have added longtime Net Derrick Coleman to the roster who will battle it out with Kenyan Martin and Keith Van Horne for coach Byron Scott. Size at the center position is a real hole so the Nets will want to up and run and shoot smart shots as rebounding could also be a challenge.

2. 2016 Cleveland Cavs
Record: 57-25

Could be the best of Labron James here who returned home and finally brought glory to Cleveland. james did it all and was assisted by up and coming star Kyrie Irving who especially stepped it up in the championship. Defeated the 73 win Warriors shows how determined and good this team can be. Kevin Love and JR Smith will need to be at their best while Matthew Dellavedova needs to pester opponents and keep offenses down. Can the King produce again for Cleveland?

3. 1996 Seattle Super Sonics
Record: 64-18

Basketball in Seattle was something special in the 90's with Gary Payton leading a team that made a habit of winning, none more then in 1996. George Karl played his unique brand of basketball and a force in the middle name Shawn Kemp made it happen. Hersey Hawkins was an underrated star and Detlef Schrempf showcased his versatile game. This team played defense better then most, and that will be key in this season. The Sonics are being picked as a sleeper by many.

4. 2005 Phoenix Suns
Record: 44-38

From outsider to contender. In to the mix comes Sir Charles. I made Barkley to be part of this process and he will play for a Suns team that really needs him. Barkley can take over games and is a character that demands attention on the court. Stephan Marbury and Penny Hardawy will make this team quick and Amare Stoudamire before his injuries will be a great duo with Charles. You have to love the Suns team that is put together for Frank Johnson. Many like them to go very far this season.

5. 1996 Chicago Bulls
Record: 72-10

Most would say truly the greatest team of all time. Now is the time for the Bulls to prove it and play with the biggest target on their back. With everything to lose Minchael Jordan takes his most talented roster on his back and looks to be the best of the best, even some of his own teams can be in his way from making that happen. Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen add to the hall of fame resume of this team while talents like Steve Kerr and Toni Kukoc should not be overlooked.

6. 1989 Cleveland Cavs
Record: 57-25

A quiet bunch that inst fancied by anyone but will try and compete with out the added spice. Mark Price and Brad Daugherty are as fundamentaly sound as you can find and Larry nance brings range and hops to the table. Dont let their low profile fool you, this Cavs team wont quit on Lenny Wilkens and if they can just avoid Michael Jordan, can actually win some games. Ron Harper and Steve Kerr are two future Bulls that are young and able to help in Cleveland.

7. 1998 LA Lakers
Record: 61-21

The Lakers came to life again in 1998 and it was due to the investment in the Big Fella Shaq as well as a skinny kid from Philadelphia named Kobe. These were the early days of a dynasty but the talent and edge is there. Eddie Jones is also still much better then you rememberwhile Robert Horry and Nick Van Exel know a thing or two about knocking down big shots. Del Harris has a chance to take this team places if he can funnel the imaturity.

8. 2019 Milwaukee Bucks
Record: N/A

Giannis brought home his MVP as the Bucks with his emergence had the best record in the NBA. The Greek Freak can play all over the court and his inside strength can be underrated. The Bucks add Kris Middleton and Brooks Lopez to a team that usually has great chemistry and poise. Still not having won anything, hard to see the Bucks taking things very far.

9. 1999 New York Knicks
Record: 27-23

After a strike shortened average regular season, the Knicks went on a run and made it back to the NBA Finals. Patrick Ewing wasnt even the biggest factor on this team with Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell playing some of their best ball. Larry Johnson post injury still could hit a big shot and Marcus Camby came on as a true defensive force. If they do get something from the big guy, this Knicks team will not be a pushover and should be monitored.

10. 2011 Chicago Bulls
Record: 62-20

A small window for this team to be great before injuries did them in. Derrick Rose wins the MVP at 23 years old and such young stars like Joakim Noah and Lual Deng help compliment them. Carlos Boozer will need to keep his scoring going and the Bulls may need some more outside shooting, but the magic was there for one season. With injuries off, it will be very interesting to see how well a full blown DRose can do against the very best.

11. 1986 Boston Celtics
Record: 67-15

Legends everywhere you look on the parqay of Boston Garden. Larry Bird and Kevin McHale lead a team that bleeds green and won for almost a decade strong. The Celtics just do it all and Robert Parrish is another name that wont be denied in the middle. Dennis Johnson adds fine defense and Bill Walton a real surge of ebergy off the bench; KC Jones and Red Aurebach have to be happy with their chances. In any event, just to watch Larry Bird play again should be something magnificent.

12. 2002 Sacramento Kings
Record: 61-21

A team that really deserved better, this Sacramento team had their chances dashed by the mighty Lakers. Chris Webber dominated as a talent rarely seen at this time while Mike Bibby and Doug Christie were perfect for compliments. Adding European flair in sharp shooter Peja Stojakovic and Vlade Divac, the Kings just keep coming at you. The best Kings team there ever was, it will be interesting to see how their agile unselfish play corolates against modern teams especially.
