CCHA college hockey season using my NCAA Hockey alumni teams

The first season I did was with all 30 NCAA Hockey teams that I created. For that 82 game season, I used Michigan State and won the championship.

I wanted to see how I would do with a much less talented team, using the same slider settings that I used before. I decided to do a CCHA season, using the WMU Broncos as my team. I selected the Swiss National League as my season format, since they have 12 teams and only play a 50 game season.

Here are the final standings:

1. MSU 110 points
2. Michigan 94 points
3. Ohio State 81 points
4. Ferris State 77 points
5. Nebraska Omaha 76 points
6. Northern Mich 73 points
7. Lake Superior St. 71 points
8. Alaska Fairbanks 70 points
9. Bowling Green 68 points
10. Miami 67 points
11. Western Mich 62 points
12. Notre Dame 51 points

As you can see, I didn't fare too well with WMU. Their only players in the NHL are Jamal Mayers, Paul Szczechura, Mark Letestu, Pat Dwyer, and Joe Corvo. They also have Matt Clackson, Jeff LoVecchio and Patrick Galivan of the AHL on their squad. So less than half of my skaters were NHL/AHL guys. For all other players, including both goalies, I filled in the roster slots with scrubs (rated under 60 overall) from the CHL. I've found that this makes for good contrast between star players and the lesser talented teams. When I played Michigan State or U-M I usually got blown out, as I should be.

Anyways, here's the playoff results, only the top 8 teams got in.

Quarterfinals:

(4)Ferris State upset (1)MSU in 3 games (6-7, 4-3, 2-1)
(2)Michigan swept (3)Ohio State 4-3 and 3-1

Finals:
(2)Michigan beat (4)Ferris State in 3 games (2-3, 5-0, 4-1)

Hopefully, EA Sports reaches an agreement with the NCAA in the meantime that will allow for the real college teams to be in the game. If not, look for me to be the "MK Knight" of NHL12 and the NCAA hockey teams. Assuming of course that EA Sports actually has an online roster sharing option next year for PS3. They did not this year unfortunately so I wasn't able to share my roster files with anyone
