QUEENS - Matt Harvey rebounded from two dreadful starts, but it wasn't enough as the Nationals kept rolling, winning their 7th straight game in a 5-3, 10-inning victory over the Mets.

Harvey allowed just one run and 6 hits and struck out 8 in 8 innings, but the bullpen, staked with a 1-0 lead, gave up 3 runs to hand the Nats the win.

The Nationals were lead by Ian Desmond, who's 2-run homer in the 10th capped a 4-RBI day. Stephen Strasburg set the tone for the Mets, stymying New York bats with a three-hitter in seven innings pitched.

I've decided to start posting my dynasty results here. Though I'm a little late to the party, I love the table generators on OS, so I've decided to get going here. Enjoy!

The Mets currently sit at 5-11, 8.5 games behind the first place (13-2) Nationals. Though there have been bright points along the way, the Mets have not gotten off to the fast start they wanted, though the start is basically what the rest of Major League Baseball had predicted.

After opening 2013 with a 3-2 win over the Padres, the Mets dropped three straight before evening their record by taking the last two games from their series with the Marlins. But since that point, it's been a 2-8 stretch, including 5 straight losses to the Phillies and Twins.

Bright Points - David Wright continues to earn the C on his chest, hitting .373/2/7 up to this point, leading the team and near the top of the league in average. Ike Davis hit a homerun in each of the team's first four games, but he's had just one since (.258/5/11). Lucas Duda is the Met who has shone the most, however, hitting .346 with 5 homers and 9 RBI.

On the mound, Shaun Marcum has been a nice surprise, posting a 1.23 ERA through his first three starts, though only earning one win. Though Zack Wheeler was rocked in his first two starts, he rebounded with a 14-strikeout, 4-hit shutout of the Rockies this week.

The struggles - Rookie catcher Travis D'Arnaud looked decent in the spring and earned the opening day start for the Mets, but he was 2 for his first 21 with 0 RBI and proved to be over his head. He was demoted to Las Vegas, but has gone .259/1/3 in his 27 at-bats since. The Mets signed veteran Brian Schneider to fill the platoon role with John Buck.

Outside of Duda, the outfield has been weak. Cowgill (.167/0/2) and Byrd (.241/0/7) are close to playing their way out of the starting lineups. Ruben Tejada (.236/0/4) is also struggling.

But the biggest shocker has been the play of Matt Harvey in his sophomore season. Harvey is 0-2 with an 8.44 ERA through 3 starts.

The Mets will look to turn things around and though they don't figure to contend for the NL East crown, they'll at least look to compete and get their young prospects ready for the future.
