Wow...

...just wow. This is incredible!

I started typing this as I was playing today as I wanted to follow-up as I said I would from typing last night.

The game-play has an even better crispness and responsiveness after this mornings update. I was pleased with my perceived game-play animation outcomes improvement from the previous two updates; I did not think it could improve more. I am playing at Game Speed 56; I may cut back to 54.

I hope it is not my imagination: There are fewer automatic transition celebrations. I can actually appreciate when they happen because of the variation (less is more).

I also wanted to communicate the psychological effect of game-flow: I am POSITIVELY energized after finishing my last game. I am ready to play another 48 minute game for the first time in a long time; this is the feeling I've wanted from 2K this console generation.

The game-flow feels less sticky... less plodding. It seems I am spending less time holding the controller waiting for an immersion cut-scene to complete; it seems there are fewer, and it seems I can opt out of a cut-scene easier. I am now manipulating the controller to be immersed in the action rather than merely looking at an inescapable canned-animation cut-away.

I played 48 minutes and the experience seemed to be more about basketball decision making: THAT'S WHERE THE IMMERSION IS. Attributes seem to continue mattering (I am playing without any badges in MyLeague).

Development Team: Great update! Please continue to think about game-flow and replicate the rollercoaster ride that basketball games truly are. I appreciate all of you and your work.

Now, I am going back for game #2 of the day just to make sure I was not hallucinating.

UPDATE: It's 10:56 PM. I reset everything to Hall Of Fame with Game Speed 50: Just like the opening day in September, I wanted to see the development team's vision for this update. I AM ABSOLUTELY BUZZING AS IF I HAD 3 CUPS OF COFFEE! THIS IS BASKETBALL!

I always knew if the pace of presentation picked-up, game-play could really shine. Things are flowing so well now I have basketball problems instead of video game problems. I have not cursed at all this evening because I'm immersed in basketball problem-solving. I'm actually catching my breath mentally I'm so excited.

I may need that shot of gin tonight to sleep.

High fives all around: Love you guys!
