This is a little bit of a nuance, but it's not really new

Picking your battles: 2K19 MyLeague AI gets this done. It's always been there, but with each improvement, I feel it a little more. You're not going to win every possession, but you try to win some key ones, string them together over 48-minutes, and hope the chips fall your way. Roleplayers can prevent this when they... well... do their role.

I remember Grant Hill saying everyone in The League can do something; there is a reason they hold a roster spot. Now and then, we outside of the NBA rectangle like to show-off our knowledge of the game to our friends and call a player a bum. Of course, sometimes it is hard to realize the NBA's 450th player's place in the basketball universe: At a given point in time, he is better than roughly seven billion people at the game.

What I'm talking about is respect: Right now in MyLeague Kelly Oubre is beating me 'til my nose bleeds. Why? Subconsciously I think I know his capability. But, with each back-door; each spot-up three because I was helping on Beal; he is essentially telling me "I deserve to be here and you will guard me". Now, when I give him full attention, yeah, he doesn't do much. But, if I disrespect him... he makes me pay. Of course the challenge is helping on Beal while keeping Oubre honest.

As I said: This has always been in 2K, but as usual I can feel slightly more edge than 2K18, making roleplayers just that much more valuable.

A-ight... time-out's over: Gotta wipe my nose and see if I can slow Beal down and put Oubre in his place.
