XGP Gaming has posted their review of NBA Live 06, giving it an 8.4 out of 10.
"What could have been improved upon, though, is the AI in the game. Yes, it’s much improved from Live 05, but does any NBA AI ever get it right? No. You can eventually dominate the AI with ease. Often times they’re left standing as you run from end to end with a dunk finisher. Alternatively, they’ll sit while being easily ripped (have the ball stolen from them for the nerds). I’m not sure if we should expect any NBA AI to ever get it quite right, but they are much improved. They do call defensive and offensive plays, depending upon the situation or the score for that matter. I was running a game with the Dallas Mavericks, naturally against the Spurs, up by 3 with 30 seconds and they played hack-a-shack on Dampier. I was a little amazed, but it happened. I canned the free throws and yes I know I should’ve subbed Dampier out. However, the fact that they even hacked him was more impressive to me. I’m not saying this is usual AI activity but the point is they react a lot better than before."
