Sony dominates the news tonight and it is not good news for you Playstation folks. PS3 is going to be delayed and Sony is losing that lawsuit on the dual shock. I didn't even know that lawsuit was still going on.

  • Sony's Legal Woes Rumble On
    " You might remember, back in the annals of 2003, a court case bought against both Microsoft and Sony by haptic technology company Immersion regarding patent infringement of force feedback technologies allegedly included in both the Xbox and PlayStation DualShock controllers."
  • Sony Planning Retro Downloads for PS3?
    "t's speculated, off the back of this talk, that with PS3 Sony may well be looking to copy Nintendo's download plans for Revolution, where consumers will be able to grab games from Nintendo's back catalogue via digital distribution and play them on Nintendo's new machine."
  • PS3 Launch Unveiling Within 24 Hours?
    "The briefing which will be fronted by Sony boss Ken Kutaragi and other assorted bigwigs - has been called in Tokyo for 3.00pm Japanese time on Wed, March 15. The father of the PlayStation is expected to reveal some of the company's plans for its next-gen machine, as well as offering insights into how it will support the PS2 and PSP arms of its business."

    "According to Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper, Sony has conceded that they will have to push back the release of the console until November in Japan due to issues with the Blu-Ray technology."

MLB 2K6 benched 'til April (PS2, Xbox, 360, GC)

Gamespot has reported the delay of the release of MLB 2K6 from March to April.
"2K Sports has always held that the game's release date was Spring 2006, so the game may not even technically be delayed. However, the MLB 2K series nearly always slides into stores before the first pitch of the MLB season, which will be tossed out on April 2 this season."

IGN has posted the following:
  • Major League Baseball 2K6 Screenshots (360)

    "MLB 2K6, the only baseball sim on every major console, has been pushed back on every major console. EB Games now lists the release date for the PS2 and Xbox versions at April 10, about a week into the MLB regular season."
  • Sony Loses Another Rumble Round (PS2)
    "Sony lost another round in its continuing patent violation lawsuit with Immersion, Corp. when a Federal judge dismissed the company's appeal due to the questionable "reliability" of a key Sony witness."
  • Sony to Hold PlayStation Briefing Wednesday (PS3)
    "SCE has not announced the lineup for the conference, but most are speculating on a PlayStation 3 appearance of some form."
