June already? Where has this year gone?

Video Games Push for Olympic Recognition

CNN Money has posted an article entitled, Video Games Push for Olympic Recognition.
"People aren't watching [the Olympics] as much anymore," he argued. "You need to bring younger viewers back if you want to keep making money. To do that, you need to embrace non-traditional sports. They did it with snowboarding - and look how the popularity of that has surged in the Games. Video games deserve to be seen as a non-traditional sport. ... They would bring something to the Games that [that age group] engages in and everyone understands."

Motorstorm Screenshots (PS3)

Playsyde has posted some screenshots of Motorstorm.
"Here come five screenshots of Motostorm. The game doesn't look bad at all, except for this annoying blur that gives me headache each time I close my eyes. Anyway, if the devteam achieves to fix the low gravity of the E3 demo, it could end up as a very enjoyable game."

Ridge Racers 2 In The Pipe? (PSP)

PSX Extreme has the scoop.
"It seems that Namco Bandai is working on a sequel to Ridge Racers for the PSP due out possibly as early as October. 8-player online play is rumored to be included. The original, a Playstation Portable launch title, has become one of the best-selling games on the platform."

MotoGP 06 Screenshots (360)

Xboxyde has posted some screenshots of MotoGP 06.
"Here come four screenshots of MotoGP 06, and it looks fantastic, except for some aliasing (but hey, it's always more visible in screenshots anyway). The game was one of our favorites sport games of E3 2006, and it's coming in less than two weeks."

Sega Driving Studio at Work on New IP

Spong has the scoop.
"We can reveal that Sega's UK-based Driving Studio has started pre-production on a brand new Sega driving game that is not related to any other Sega title from history. We have no concrete details at time of press, other than as the Development of Sega Rally continues, the team has expanded to cater for a brand-new Sega IP."

Stoked Rider featuring Tommy Brunner Interview (PC)

DreamStation has posted an interview with Tom Schaffer, as they talk about Stoked Rider featuring Tommy Brunner.
DreamStation: "Stoked Rider focuses on the freeriding aspect of snowboarding, for those who donít know could you go into a little detail about what exactly that is and what else differentiates your game from the others in the genre?"
Tom Schaffer: "First of all: Which other games? Stoked Rider ft. Tommy Brunner is the first snowboard game for PC in years! And it is the very fist game build around big-mountain-snowboarding. So you can't really compare it to console games like Amped, because you're not restricted to limited courses. You're free to do whatever you want. As I said, the core gameplay has far more importance for us. You can't just start a run, go to the toilet, and when you come back the rider has finished the run himself. What you need is skill, but also the game has an appeal to casual gamers. I personally also like it very much, to just start the game, cruise down the mountains a few times and listen to our great soundtrack. Players can choose, if they want challenge or relaxation."

Juiced: Eliminator Preview (PSP)

Yahoo! Video Games have posted their preview of Juiced: Eliminator.
"From a driving standpoint, Eliminator is a straight-ahead arcade racer--the developers seem to have compensated a bit for the PSP's very sensitive analog controller by giving the cars a tendency to understeer, though drift turns are very easy to initiate in the game by simply turning sharply into the apex of a corner. If your car has a nitrous attachment, you can use it for an extra speed boost by holding down the right trigger. Watch out, though, because your nitrous will run out sooner than you think, so you don't want to abuse it too early in the race. There is a simple damage model in the game if you drive recklessly, though the only performance-detracting damage we saw was a nitrous leak that caused your nitrous to quickly drain."

QOTD - The ability to turn invisible. That way I could get into any place at any time and see or hear whatever I needed to.

Easily the ability to time travel.

You would be able to see any moment in the past or future, and you would be filthy rich off making bets.

Steve is right though...Where the hell has 2006 gone? I still sometimes write, 2005! Its June, 2006 is almost half way over....wow.

My superpower would be the ability to control time. Speed it up, slow it down, even stop it.
