Roster Corrupt! (360)

Mark Fossen, over at 5WG, has posted an article entitled, Roster Corrupt!
"For those averse to link-following, here’s the Cliff’s Notes version: in this week’s 360 Spring Update, it appears Microsoft took action against people who had been sharing saves on popular internet community sites. If these reports are true, they took a brute-force approach to the problem, putting together a list of banned consoles: any files created on this hardware are now seen as “corrupt” by the 360.

I don’t know which shocks me more: how invasive this solution is or how inelegant this solution is … I suppose I shall put my programming biases aside and choose “invasive”."

Sega Rally Revo Impressions (360, PS3, PC)

Kotaku has posted their impressions of Sega Rally Revo.
"Unfortunately, the game won't really have damage modeling for the cars, the most you can really do is scuff a car up, which is a bit of a disappointement. Online will support up to six players. While their will be no cross play between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions (obviously), the team is looking into potentially supporting cross-play between the 360 and PC versions."

Tecmo Bowl Coming in 2008 (?)

As mentioned yesterday, Tecmo Bowl is coming in 2008.
"Tecmo Bowl is the classic of classics; the basic football game that garnered legions of fans way back in the NES and GameBoy days. The series made it to the PS1, but seemed to die off after that, yielding to the new simulators like Madden. But believe it or not, Tecmo hasn't abandoned the series at all; in fact, they're planning another installment for next year!"

Forza 2 Demo Impressions (360)

Kotaku has posted their impressions of the Forza 2 demo.
"The cars look great though, and the AI seems nice and crafty, if a little over-zealous (I've been shunted out of a race more than a few times by an over-anxious competitor). Handling seems...OK, but you need to have driven more cars on more tracks to get a real feel for it. What I will say is that the last driving game I played was PGR 3, and this is, as it's supposed to be, a lot stricter."

Forza 2 Screenshots and Movie Clip (360)

Xboxyde has posted some more Forza 2 screenshots and another movie clip.
"After a pretty exciting week in the gaming world, the pitpass returns with some new images and more importantly some new footage of the long awaited Ring: you'll have the chance to appreciate the phenomenal sense of speed you get in the fastest cars. We're also offered a short interview of Che where the differences between the demo version and the retail version are revealed - so, as expected, pretty much nothing as the final game will be very similar in terms of graphics and sound. There's also some info about the demo content such as the AI level and Che adds that in the final game it will also be possible to tune the wheel completely."

Other Stuff...

Didn't do much at all yesterday, other than watch the Warriors paste the Jazz. They are unstoppable at home, I honestly think they can take the Jazz, w/o the home court advantage.

I got the wireless wheel yesterday, to try it out w/ the Forza 2 demo, but was just to lazy to unbox and play. After the chores around the house are done, maybe I can get to that tonight.

What's up with you?

Too lazy to...play a video game? Wow, Steve. That's a whole new level of lazy, right there!

No wheel for me. First of all, I'm not good enough at racing games to warrant the purchase, and secondly, I don't play racing games enough to make it worth it.

QOTD: I don't favor racing games enough to invest in the wheel.

If MS doesn't fix that roster problem.... I may have to get a PS3, even though I really don't want to. NCAA is NOTHING without rosters.
