I love the whole "can't make the same tackle twice," but with a name like Backbreaker you just have to assume it will be similar to Blitz.

Well the developers have likened it to a Burnout version of Football.

Haha, I just clicked on this thread b/c I realized how irrelevant this once-promising project has now become.

I always welcomed the competition, but my thing was that until they could get it put into the form of an actual game people would want to buy and play (or at least get their technology in a game already coming out), it might as well never have existed.

The idea that this was the "next big thing" was laughable. 2k Football couldn't possibly have had more rose-colored glass hype to it, and APF 2k8 was an absolute bomb. These guys never showed a real screenshot or gameplay video evincing a real game, yet people were still ready to jump onto Team Backbreaker.

I would have to disagree. For these guys it is their first game to themselves and they were hyped right away but then realized they didn't want to keep people waiting for so long because it would get annoying so they tried to keep it low profile. They are taking as long as they can to make it perfect because they aren't pressured for a yearly release. I think this year or early next year they will show real in-game videos and it will come out christmas 2010

This will be the new and improved version of all pro it seems like. The game looks awsome but the fact that the teams are fully customizable is going to be the key for this game. If we can create close to NFL teams and edit players the way we want people will have a field day with this.

This is looking pretty good. This may be a game worth the $60 this time!

I had high hopes for this game, but as time goes on, and the developers not providing even the slightest information to their own community, my hopes are dwindling.

Pictures are ok but don't mean crap when there is hardly any gameplay videos so dar. They can put out all the pics they want. But until I see actual Game footage and not some 30 second clip of tackle alley. Then I would more impressed. But until then. Pics don't me crap to me.

See so many people want to see the BB team get NFL rights to make it into a nfl game. But if it takes them 4 years just to bring out their first Football game. Then they will never ever get the NFL rights. NFL wants a yearly game for the fans. Not once every 4 to 5 years. So never expect Back breaker to more then another blitz type game with no NFL rights.

I accept: Backbreaker is the first football game with truly interactive tackles. By utilizing the motion synthesis engine, euphoria, players will never make the same tackle twice, giving them an intensely unique experience every time they play the game.
