We have just posted some NCAA Football 09 stadium comparison screenshots. You can read about the details over at the official NCAA Football 09 website.

Quote:
"On Field Textures

"One thing we're really proud of this year is our field textures. The level of detail has improved quite a bit. You'll actually be able to see the difference between grass and synthetic turf, which is something that's totally new. We also have field degradation, so the field will see realistic wear and tear during the course of a game."

On Stadium Lighting

"In years past our stadium lighting has been really dark for the dusk games. This year we have separate lighting controls for the environment and the player, so when the player goes into a shadow, you'll still see the same level of detail you'd see in the full sun."

On The Fans

"Home stadiums have never felt more alive. In the past our crowd colors used to be more mixed with neutral colors, but this year we're showing off the home crowd's colors in a big way. Inside the stadiums it's very clear which fans are supporting which team. There are pockets in the stadiums with sections full of visiting team fans."

On Other Improvements

"There are a lot of other detail related things we've done to make the stadiums feel more authentic. There is fog that adds more depth to the fields in the larger stadiums, mow lines during snow games, and more dramatic skies that help to improve the environments."

i notice in some of those pictures the stadiums had some empty seats, and the rain/snow and field textures looks much better. and looks like Navy's real stadium is in.

Look at the snow pictures..Whats on the logo..Is that a ref?

Each team has 11 players, than there is a shadow figure on the logo..Maybe I am seeing things?

I decided to circle the guy, for anyone not seeing what I am...

My initial thoughts is that it is a referee...

Man I love this feature!

It should be in EVERY sports game IMO. It adds sooo much to the presentation/atmosphere from a visual stanpoint.

I hope this is in Madden also.

Still no refs. It can't honestly be that hard EA, it just can't.

However everything looks improved, better textures, crowds look better, sidelines are busier, weather looks better. NOW how bout that broke *** gameplay?

I don't care about damn refs, but I think they're in this year.

Half-empty stands were a must IMO. Great to see that in. The screenshot looks excellent.

I don't give a rats *** about the refs either, just find it amusing they have decided not to include them on the field anymore. In either football game.

I am very impressed with the lighting. Also, the snow pics seem better.

Those screenshots look great IMO. Has me even more excited for this game. I really hope they get the refs and chain gang in the game. The atmosphere would be visually complete then. I don't think I've ever been this hyped this early for NCAA.

Very impressive screens. The grass texture and color look so much more realistic than past years. I also like the additions of focusing on team colors for fans in the stadium.

We know now that it's going to look good, I just wonder if they can do half as good on game play.
