I guess they have to do that b/c the file is so big? I have to wait 40 minutes before I can even start downloading, seems dumb. Excited to test it out though, hope my CPU can handle it.

Well apparently my brand new laptop can't run this game. Was moving soooo slow. Only thing I can think of as a problem is that my dual core processor is only 2.1 ghz and the minimum requirements for vista says 2.8 ghz single core. Would that cause it to move very slowly? Guess I won't be getting this game for PC...

I doubt it's your CPU. Your GPU is the probably culprit. What kinda GPU does the laptop have ?

My dual core is a 2.1 also. I have a 9650m gt GPU and 4gb ram and it runs on max (screen res 1200x800) for me.

As MLB says your GPU could and probably will be your problem.

Yea the more I thought about it I figured it was my graphics card (I think that is the GPU). I have a mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset, whatever that is, and I have the latest drivers. I also installed the latest Direct X. I have plenty of ram and memory and all of that.

Thanks for the help.

Says I'm #61 out of 87 with 31 minutes left to wait. I just went with the region that had the lowest estimated wait time though.

Still interested to try it out. I may still get the PC version later if they can iron out some of the bugs and some good mods are created. The 360 version isn't really doing it for me.

I just played a couple games of the PC demo. The graphics look decent - especially day games. The fielding is strange and so is the base running. I've been able to get the CPU to swing and miss quite a bit, but they don't watch much at all go by. I'm getting used to the pitching controls now, so they're lookin' at more go by now.

I'm running it at 1400x1050 with everything on high. The game runs very smoothly and hardly ever bogs down to 30 FPS - only when it has to render a lot of the crowd in one shot, but that's because I'm pushin' things beyond my computer's limits. It's still very playable.

PC Info
CPU - AMD 2.2GHz Dual Core
GPU - GeForce 8800GS
RAM - 2GB 667 MHz
OS - Vista

Anybody have an idea how this game will run on my system with the following specs:

Windows XP Service Pack 2
Intel Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.0 GHz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (Quadro NVS 140M)
512 MB Video RAM

Thanks in advance.

I just downloaded demo, but all I get is a black screen with sound when I try to play it.

My cpu has windows xp
Intel pentium 4 -2.40 ghz
1 gb ram
Radeon 9600 series video card
200 gb hard drive

Is my cpu not good enough, and if so, what would I need to upgrade?
Thanks.

That's a video card issue. Try updating your drivers for the Radeon 9600. That's an old card. I'm not sure if it has the hardware needed to run the game.

I just went to that link and your video card only has shader model 2.0 hardware on it. I think the game needs shader model 3.0 hardware. The bad news is you can't run it now. The good news is it wouldn't cost much to upgrade to a graphics card that could run the game well.

finally played the demo, I lost 4-0 but I like it. I am most likely gonna be buying it and if I can get better at the controls I will like it even more.

Got a chance to check the PC demo now. Game plays just fine, so no problems there (didn't expect any, to be honest, bust just checking).

Now we'll just see how well VC does with support for this game in terms of fixes/patches and what kind of mods surface as time goes by. I can't see myself getting it now, but if all goes good, then it's certainly viable down the road.

Heh.

I got greedy. Tried to run the demo on my work laptop.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4
2GB RAM, 800Mhz
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

And it was slow as ****.

Of course, I was running Windows XP virtualized on a MacBook.

Yeah, it was too much to hope for, I guess. The home PC should work. I just need to wait until I get back home.

I'm trying to run MLB 2K on Windows XP using a Mac with Fusion. All I get is a black screen. Any ideas?

NVIDIA GFORCE 9400 M
4 GB RAM
2.4GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
