- UPDATE 1.13.10 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Sound familiar? This is not a re-creation of an actual moment, but rather a remake of my very first video from 2K8. I updated it a little bit, but the concept is the same. Kobe sure defends the shot a lot better this time haha.

- UPDATE 1.3.10 -

"23 vs 39" Gatorade Commercial Re-creation. A couple things had to be changed from the original commercial, like old MJ's uniform, the court, and a couple wide angle shots that aren't possible to get in the practice arena's replay mode. The real commercial thankfully had no music, so I put the "Where Will Amazing Happen This Year" song into it, which I think compliments it beautifully.

- UPDATE 12.29.09 -

Michael Jordan jams over Alonzo Mourning. The exclamation on a 52 point game, that saw the Bulls defeat the Hornets 123-108 - March 12th, 1993.

- UPDATE 12.16.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Down by 2 with 10.9 seconds left in Game 3 of the 1991 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan drains the clutch jumpshot to tie the game and send it into overtime; Where the Bulls outscored the Lakers 12 to 4 and took a 2-1 series lead.

- UPDATE 11.24.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Jordan sets a Finals record with 6 three-pointers in a half, during game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals against Portland. Finishing with 39 points in a 122-89 blowout of the Blazers.

I decided to show all 6 threes this time, to help payoff the shrug a bit more. Then chose a block of time before the shrug to do in real time, including the fast break putback dunk. Which by the way, in Pippen's defense wasn't wide open haha, but there were more important factors to work in than getting that defended.

- UPDATE 11.13.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Jordan's Last Shot as a member of the Chicago Bulls, during game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, in the style of the NBA's "Where Will Amazing Happen This Year?" Commercials.

- UPDATE 11.09.09 -

Game 3 in the 1st Round of the 1991 NBA Playoffs brought about one of Jordan's signature moments. With under a minute to go in the first half, Jordan escaped the smothering D of Starks & Oakley, then dunked right over Patrick Ewing for the basket and the foul. The Bulls went on to win the game and knock off the Knicks, on the way to their first Championship.

Marv's "Jordan trying to shake off Starks, Oh what a move by Jordan!" is a classic ingrained in the minds of all Jordan fans, but I also love the excitement from Johnny Red Kerr, so I had to use both versions....

In his fourth game back from retirement in 1995, and the Bulls down by 1 with 5.9 seconds to go, MJ took the ball fullcourt and hit the jumper over Steve Smith at the buzzer to defeat the Hawks 99-98.

Too bad they took the Bulls retro jerseys out this year, I hate how the current ones shine like tin foil.

The restriction of retired numbers in 2K10 has put a halt to my re-creation videos, but my annual "Where Amazing Happens" one can still go on through the magic of Photoshop. Notably on the shorter shorts, doesn't that look good in video game form 2K? There's a lot more motion in this one than the previous 2, and it's very smooth as well.

I was thinking of naming it "NBA 2K10: Where none of this happens" but that's not very catchy ha.

hey you know what you can do even though it takes forever.

What you do is you make Michael jordan for the my player mode. there you make him with the #23.

Once you go through the summer league, and all the training necessary go to the bulls training camp, once you are accepted you will still have the #23 as a bulls.

I tried it so it works. I didn't have to make Michael all over again also. I downloaded a good one edited. Then went to the my player and surprisingly like 2k9 the guy right when you go to create your guy was Michael jordan, but without any facial hair customization and he was white.

hmm perhaps I should've done the fadeaway against someone else.... haha. At least he's kind of contesting it, he was waaaaay late in my 1st 2K8 video.

Out of curiosity, what teams or players were used in that youtube clip? I've heard we can export teams and change their jersey numbers that way but I also heard that in doing so, it reverts created players' faces back to generics.

And also, I cannot watch the video now, but just the screen capture looks spectacular, so very well done MMatt.

Wow man, that video is unbelievable. Great job.

The reason Michael Jordan is not in recent video games is because Jordan wants the video game company to pay him more money than they offered . This is the same with Charles Barkley.

if your not into motion picture then here's the gist of it.

-Kobe has better skills
-Jordan had amazing hands and was stronger
-Jordan would save his best scoring performances for better competition
-Kobe scores at random, and goes on scoring streaks
-Jordan was a more efficient scorer
-Kobe is probably a better ouside shooter
-Jordan was probably the best inside player ever
-Jordan had more control of the ball

I'm wondering if MM has an MJ CAP on 2k share...
-Kobe has better skills???? What the hell are you smoking homie?

Not sure how you guys were able to turn this into a Kobe vs MJ thread..but wow.

Sorry for the derail, Matt. Excellent job once again.

If you guys want to argue over who's better between Kobe and MJ PM each other.

Great vid MMatt! Man, I wish that was the real NBA 2K10 with real retro teams with varied short sizes... By the way can you please post your Jordan Cap?

Cheers
