CVG has the scoop.

"Ubisoft has been working with "several English clubs" including Liverpool and its captain, Steven Gerrard to develop the game.

What's more, Ubisoft's footy game is said to be due for release at the end of this year.

Nothing's official of course - and we're awaiting comment from Ubisoft - but boss Yves Guillemot has expressed his intent to break into the sports market in the past."

interesting timing. its one thing if this was before the games were at their peaks...but it will be extremely difficult to compete starting now...especially with FIFA 10/11 and World Cup 2010.

I'm all for some extra competition... that said it's going to be hard to make a dent in the market unless it is a REALLY impressive game.

I think it will be called "Scouse Mode". You get to go out in a 3rd person camera and hit up nightclubs, rob houses, and steal hubcaps! And every 7th day you play in a soccer match!
