Critically Acclaimed Game Will be Available In Stores on HD Platforms November 17; Free Title Update To Enhance Online Experience By December

(NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that EA SPORTS™ NBA JAM will be available in stores worldwide November 17 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and, for the first time ever for the arcade classic, in high definition and featuring online play. Described by Gamesradar.com as “virtually perfect”— NBA JAM will take advantage of the online communities playing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to bring all the action into your own virtual arcade.

Featuring gameplay that is true to the original, NBA JAM will have players spinning with ankle breaking moves to the basket and on the way to high-flying, backboard-smashing dunks. With two distinct game modes—Classic Campaign and Remix Tour—plus online modes, EA SPORTS NBA JAM offers something for everyone.

At launch, gamers will be able to take on all rivals playing Classic 2-on-2 online^ for the first time ever, measuring their success on Friends and Global Leaderboards. In December 2010, the online features for NBA JAM will expand significantly with several major online features being delivered through a free title update for connected gamers. In December, connected fans will be able to team-up locally and online to compete in Remix Games, including classic arcade hoop games like Backboard Smash, Domination Free-for-All, Elimination, and 21. Fans will also be able to make it a Jam Party online by inviting up to 3 friends to play. wait one sec.... they were going to package this in with Elite for free... then Elite is delayed... so they are selling this for 49.99? So does this mean they were selling Elite for 20 bucks? Only EA......

I exoected it to be around the 20-40 dollar range by itself... But at 50 its looking like a regular title which we all know its not...This wont sell because of EA's greed and their low quarterly figures!!

Um, NBA Jam was $50 on the Wii...without HD graphics...without online play. The NBA Jam you'd get in Elite had three modes of play...who knows about the unlockables...or the campaign. This game now has even more stuff than the Wii version of the game, for $10 less than a usual game for 360/PS3. So...maybe people should calm down?

People haven't been paying attention. NBA Elite was supposed to come with ONLY 3 modes of play. This version will have everything that the Wii version has + HD + Online. I enjoy NBA Jam for Wii, but the graphics aren't great at all (but what else would you expect) and lack of online really makes this game collect dust quickly.

That's right.....the "free version" that would've came with Elite 11 was a "stripped down" version of Jam. This has all the modes of Wii version, plus online. So I can kinda see the $ 50.00 price tag.

Wasn't NBA Jam the same price for the Snes and the Genesis back in the day? And now it's pretty much the same price for the 360 and ps3 with online play. So i ask this question. Why whine about the price tag when it was this price in the early 90's?

What is this HD stuff everyone is spewing? What does that even mean? You mean regular xbox 360 graphics? Is this a feature they just decided to add in? Or was there some plan previously to make the graphics really blurry?

Please explain this.

Wii games play in 480p. Which isn't high-def.

With the PS3/360 versions, we can play in true high-def. 720p or 1080i. Maybe even 1080p, but I'm not sure if that's in.

Same price Wii owners had to pay, and they don't get HD or online play... I fail to see the problem here. This will probably be a buy for me.

All of those complaining about the price will be on here release day complaining that they should have not bought it!!! Anything with EA Sports in the title drive people, especially those who just joined OS absolutely batty!

I think at most, I could see a $29.99 price tag. The game as a standalone XBLA/PSN title probably would have been $15. They said the Remix tour would be DLC, which EA would probably charge $15 for, equaling $30, or $29.99. So they bumped it up $20 extra, and we have to have use a physical disc instead of just having it installed and ready to go on our HDD's? Not cool.
