Doesn't matter much to me because I would buy it if Betty Crocker was on the cover, but it does surprise me. Reason being I remember someone asking a game developer one time why not use the same athlete from year to year...the response was that by doing so the "casual gamer" would feel there was no difference in the game.

very disappointing considering there were many other players deserving this honor. Josh Hamilton, Miguel Cabrera, Joey Votto, Carlos Gonzalez and Albert
Pujols are 5 to name nevertheless ill still buy it

As usual I couldn't care less about the cover, although it does seem a little odd to reuse last year's athlete. Did they do it to save a little money? Was Mauer more eager than previous athletes to promote the game? Is this a sign that not much in the game itself has changed? Was Mauer a fallback after a different athlete backed out on SCEA?

As for the cover, it is a surprise, but no big deal to me. He is a great player, and like Blzer said, this looks very well done and "we mean baseball"!

I don't like the same player on the cover, but it doesn't really matter at all. I'm just looking forward to new info.

good this means they are worried about the people who actually know and care about baseball lol also they know they have a very loyal fanbase as well as the best sim baseball game available so they dont have to worry much about the cover boy.

A bit of a surprise, but I don't really care who they put on the cover, personally. Overall, the cover itself looks nice though. I like the baseball in the background.

I am a little suprised about this, because I was expecting Hamilton. Anyways, I wonder if this has anything to do with them finishing the catcher mode in RTTS. I think they said something about blocking pitches and some other things that didn't make it into last years game...
