Tony Hawk tweeted this.

I'll be announcing the upcoming release of something new on Sat; the same day as the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.

If this is a new Tony Hawk game, what do you hope has improved?

well, if it is I hope that get rid of that freakin peripheral and go back to the controller. Also with the old Tony Hawk control scheme, I never cared much for the Skate control scheme. And as always with a Tony Hawk game I would expect a good soundtrack.

ah I loved THUG and THUG2, those were the days.

I hope they add some RL events to compete in.

Get rid of the peripheral, and give us one big massive city to skate in. That's all I want, even if it means they go all cell-shaded or some such thing.

The Skate series never did quite satisfy, even after such a promising debut.

I kind of wonder if this might be an HD remake though.

I feel disappointed at this news, just because EA isn't releasing any new Skate games any time soon despite having a much better control scheme, core gameplay, and everything else short of a roster and feature set.

I've been playing the Skate series continuously since it came out. Would love to see one comprehensive skateboarding game using Skate's engine, plus a full roster and feature set using the best of all worlds.

If we're JUST talking Tony Hawk series, I would want more fluidity and classic controls. It's a shame when something continues for years after its peak and keeps trying and failing to reinvent the wheel.
