If this transforms into something long term where the community guys can give feedback into the game or be the "ears to the street" of 2K for patches needed or become like a member of a development team brought in to help develop the game then that is where the community guys can be really important.

Agree, you made some good points. If they continue the program we might see some improvement in the series

I concur. I'm primarily an Association player myself, but in online play and My Player is where the gameplay and A.I. flaws really get exposed for all to see.

If the guys that go can aid them in tuning things so that H2H games aren't, in their default state, a battle of dueling exploits, and the My Player games aren't an exercise in frustration in dealing with the horrid User teammate A.I., then I have no worries about how things will play out in Association games.

I agree.

With My Player, you can truly see most(if not all) of the gameplay flaws.

You can notice the speed issues, the lack of proper footwork and the results of it, defensive quick sliding/reaction, A.I poor passing choices for both CPU and User, Players not snatching the ball for rebounds/just going up to a spot, The need of the Pick strength and Pick Success sliders back.

Some people may like chris smoove because he makes them laugh, but i dont think he represents most SIM players like myself. I watched alot of his videos and dude is pretty cheesy especially in Myplayer. Shady is OK, i just dont think videos are anywhere near as good as the Momentus trailers. Someone like Teebone21 from the 2K forums or myself :-) would be good for this.

I am just HOPING SOMEONE at 2k has Taken Notice of Vannwolfhawk's work he did with the Playbooks this year. Amazing stuff he did.

Agreed and what happend to teebone? lol haven't been over there in a long time. Hasn't EA been doing this with Madden for a while now? We still have to wait for 13 but I heard EA, just uses it to hype their game up.

You can't play sim basketball in myplayer lol.

Your teammates are worthless and can't defend. You have to do everything in order to win.

Chris Smoove is actually one of the less cheesy myplayer player on youtube. Actually he is the only one I can watch without shaking my head even though I'd agree that since his myplayer has become so good in 2K13 he does go a lot to the basket with no regards to the defense.

It seems 2k's goal with this is to create hype, so i'm expecting that the people invited will all be high-profile guys with lots of followers. Popular youtube guys will probably get the invites. Makes sense from 2k's standpoint - they want a lot of eyeballs following the hype, so i don't see them offering it up to people who are just obscure forum members. From a business standpoint it doesn't make much sense for them to invite a little-known gamer on a forum. If their goal was to get useable feedback, they would've invited these people months ago when they still had time to use the feedback. By the time these people see the game in a few weeks it will be mostly completed anyway. 2k does listen to feedback, I'll give them credit for that, but this team-up program looks like a hollow hype machine and nothing more. This late in the dev cycle, i don't see VC being able to make any real changes based on what the invitees tell them.

This whole "who will be invited?" reveal seems like hype as well. 2k probably already knew who they were inviting months ago, so now they're creating more fake hype around the reveal of the invitees...think about it. if somebody is going to take a plane trip to VC studios, wouldn't they need to know months ahead of time so they could plan the trip? It's not likely being decided "as we speak" as Ronnie2k claims.

Dude DaCazar is allready a major part of 2k i mean in nba 2k12 they gave him a dunk package

# 92 JerzeyReign @ 07/30/12 09:51 AM
I hope they ask Czar his opinion but it wouldn't feel right if he was just with one title. He's good for basketball gaming as a whole -- it would suck to take a guy like that from the neutral zone.

I mean, I hope they fly him down and I hope they ask him his suggestions but I don't think he should be an official member. More like an ambassador or something...

It's not about what they gave him, it's about him voicing the opinions and feeling of the sim nation. Da_Czar is outspoken about what the sim nation and what matters. A dunk package was a honor for him but it didn't satisfy what he knew everybody wanted from the game. People want personal gain by going to this events. We need people respected and who will get ear time.

*technically the game is done; they are in the tweaking stages.

He did...I remember him talking about being in the offices and talking to main guys there and voicing his dislikes. He posted all his experience at 2k on his blogsite to...

Anybody else remember Ronnie tweeting way back in November or something that Chris Smoove would be getting some type of opportunity this year? I vaguely remember that. Seems Ronnie was hinting at this team-up program way back then, in which case the invitees were decided a long time ago.

Not really. I think Da Czar and SportsGamer (?) brought it up a few months ago. I mean, not sure if they are the originators of the idea but I know it was a topic just a few months ago. I actually tweeted to the Ronnie/LD2k about where they were on getting one together multiple times after hearing it.

I think it's long overdue, but that being said this a great thing. Better late than never! I agree with whoever said it earlier though that they need to have specialists in different areas to dive in depth within each specific game mode or area.

My player
Association
Online association
Player tendencies
Ratings
Play books
Gameplay
Dribble sigs/shot sigs
Accessories
Etc, etc...

Have each person dive into their area of expertise. I think there are so many things we as gamers look for that devs don't even think about. Maybe it's the suits, maybe they don't have the resources? I don't know but this could be great for the series! I can't help but think of how different the game (2k12) could have played out of the box with all the broken plays removed prior to release. I could care less about having guys see the game early before release, but having guys visit and give feedback (for the sim community) at the 3-6-9 month stages of development would be huge!

Da czar is a must for me and hopefully is 1 of the chosen ones. We need people with voices who can give constructive criticism in a positive way. I'm excited to find out these lists so I can send some points of emphasis over to the chosen ones before they go! :-)

Thanks for that man, much appreciation. I'm pretty sure that 2K may have their "Dream Team" list ready since last October, but that's just a theory I have.

I will always include the guys behind stats/tendencies and rosters edits like mkharsh33, slimm, Paul Pierce, portlandblazer, hokupguy. These guys have continuously been reinventing the game for us, year after year. IMO these guys often are overlooked, mainly because they hang out on the "other side" of the NBA 2K forum.

I say it almost every time I give my opinion on seeing a game early that things can change from when I viewed the game. The earlier you see a game the more things can change.

Add to that the limited time you have with the game and the amount of community requests your trying to fulfill while playing the game.

At any time they can make a change to negate or pull back on something that was working or was not working as well as you thought it should be. The speed issues that you guys saw was not apart of the build I played for example.

But it amazes me how people don't consider that they just assume that after all these years Czar forget what a fast break looks like. LOL. Who ever get's invited I hope you see what glory you have to look forward to.

Viewing a game for a few hours will never compare to spending weeks / months with it in your own living room. Where you can pull out last years game and compare etc.

Your playing a game with a mountain of community questions hopes and desires that your trying to get a look at so you can report back and regardless how well you think your doing there is and will always be something you miss because it is difficult to do. Then you come back and answer questions for hours on end for a game you played for a matter of hours doing the best you can to not get people hyped but not downplay the things you liked.

It ain't easy family.

So either you wuss out and don't say much of anything for fear of something changing on you. ( which I never do) Or you speak the truth as you know it to be at the time and let the chips fall where they may.

Both 2k11 and 2k12 were better when I played them before release and that is the God's honest truth.

I don't doubt you at all czar! BUT what if you were NOT rushed and had 3-4 full days with the game and you JUST focused on a few key areas? Of course it would be impossible in such a short time with the game and being just 1 person to be able to give feedback On the whole game or in multiple areas, as your like a chicken with his head cut off. Your mind is all over the place. Also, what if you had the opportunity to see the game and areas your focusing on in 3 different stages of development? Not to say it wouldn't or couldn't change from the last viewing until release, but if it changed between the 2nd and 3rd viewing in a bad way at least you or someone had the opportunity to correct it or be heard.

If they had 10 guys to focus on 1-2 areas each i think the results could be only positive. Could this not help in your opinion? Doesn't the show do this?
