Game Day shows him in his home jersey. Maybe it means you can choose jerseys for games, like away jersey at home and throwback jerseys?

Probably not. Don't see how they are connected.

In previous games, if you just had a 12 man rotation and one guy was injured, he would be sitting on the bench wearing a suit.

Real life Ronnie should grow a beard like Hardens to force 2k to actually have a virtual beards with that length so virtual Ronnie can look like himself....just sayin
