NBA 2K13 News Post

Gameinformer has broken down the different game modes in NBA 2K13. There are some cool additions for users administrating leagues and an interesting note on buying the All-Star Weekend DLC, which is free for everyone that pre-orders.

Quote:
  • If you buy the All-Star Weekend DLC, it will integrate itself directly into My Career and Association modes.
  • Admins in online Association leagues can reset games, and even change the outcome of games. This includes setting the final score and who scored what if for some reason a game froze toward the end of the fourth quarter and the players didn’t want to replay the entire game.
  • For the first time in online Association, you can manipulate sliders to fit your league’s preferred style of play.

If you preorder, you will not need to buy it.
It will be a token of 2K's appreciation for preordering the game.

Store Clerk, "Here you are, enjoy"
You, "sweet cant wait to get home to play it!"
2K, "Thanks for your support and patronage, and included with your pre-order is the code for the All Star weekend DLC"

Heads up my man, you guys probably need to try to speed up the announcement on if this is going to be available to people at some point if they didn't pre-order and if it is how much. I say this because the amount of whining, complaining and dirt slinging at you guys is going to be nuts about you guys telling us all this time that it was free add-on only content and then coming out a few months later and charging for it.

I got my copy pre-ordered already so I don't care one way or the other, I'm just telling you what's going to happen with a lot of people in the fanbase. It's best to get that info out there now and deal with a few complaints than having people cursing 2K's name later.

In My Player, you will have the option to edit your player’s look, playing style and abilities by purchasing new clothes and team gear using the new in-game currency. In My Player you will be able to style your player for off-the-court, on-court and for the pre-game cutscenes with over 1,400 articles of clothing and accessories.

Does this mean I can develop "my player" without playing "my career" ? And if so can I take my player online? I have never been big on only controlling one guy through a game. I prefer full control, but the team up crew my player blacktop intrigues me 15% or so.

Very excited about the changes to Mycareer, hopefully ill actually enjoy the time playing it. I was hoping they would add gameplay difficulty, The way it is now (10 games-starting lineup, 20 games-superstar) and a realism mode (like during the year you would only get a lil better but in the off-season you could actually improve a lot and overall make it much more difficult to be an all-star and a have your teammate A.I not baby you into becoming the superstar, meaning they would not always concentrate on you, but the actual star of the team instead.

We still need Mycareer difficulty options, Season Games(82,56,26),Crew , and HOPEFULLY trade logic for A.I is actually smart, They do this everyyear, "Revamped A.I", but every year the A.I is still dumb, making unrealistic trades and way too often. I will say they do get a little better but i am expecting much more, especially when they say "REVAMPED!!!11!!"

overall can't wait to get my hands on it and find out. oct 2!

No scrimmage (maybe next year). The admin has some other controls as well. Off the top of my head, he/she can pause/resume the league for holidays/people missing, he/she can advance (sim) parts of the season. You'll have a little more control for your private leagues.

Appreciate the response. A little disappointed as this was huge negative of 2K12 for the 30 guys in our league but great job on all of the other adds. We appreciate the changes and focus on all modes.

I think it's stupid how the all star weekend is a dlc. Why can't you just make it a part of the game like it's always been.

I really don't get why this is big deal. All you need to do is pre-order and you get it for free. If your an unlocked member at Best Buy, put $5 down, and get $20 gif certificate after you purchase game.

I think it's an issue for those who cannot purchase the game immediately upon release but still very much value All-Star Weekend content.

That stinks for PC users on the All Star Front. SimBaller, ANY chance that we'll get it down the road?

# 40 rudeworld @ 09/07/12 02:29 PM
pre-order it on amazon.... and say get it at another store local or maybe microsoft store lol.... I did that with the kinect and the day the kinect was to ship I didn't have the funds available in my account (It was in another account) but Amazon still sent me my free pre-order bonus which was an avatar item.... I would get the Kinect a few days later.... this may work with NBA2k13 by the way M$ Store doesn't have the all-star dlc as a pre-order bonus (If Im not mistaken I think it's $10 discount and 1800 MS Points) ENJOY MY LITTLE TRICK IT MAY WORK... But then again it may not, either way you still will be buying NBA 2K13
