NBA 2K14 News Post

The NBA 2K14 next-gen TV spot is live, with a new look at the next-generation of NBA 2K. The video shows off LeBron James in some insanely atmospheric lighting and then cuts to several gameplay sequences. A pretty exciting, although limited, look at the next generation of 2K basketball.

Makes it kind of hard to go pick up my current gen version, tomorrow. LOL.

Looks good. The actual game footage was about 5 seconds... Wish there was more. I hope they address the body sizes of Durant and Davis. The arms and legs look quite big... Parsons too.

Otherwise, lighting, accessories and faces generally look great.

I never thought seeing sweat upon a mans forehead would bring me such excitement.....well done 2k....graphically

That was impressive, although short.

One thing I don't think 2K gets enough credit for is capturing the culture that surrounds the NBA. While there is a case to be made that Jay-Z was too prominent last year, I'm glad that the game has a level of grittiness to it, and the soundtrack helps a lot with that. KRS-One fit the trailer perfectly.

One thing I noticed is the players on the bench no longer have a lower poly count & less graphical fidelity than the players that are subbed in. That always has annoyed me

I suggest you lower your expectations. I wouldnt be surprised if the next gen version has the same features but upgraded graphics. The team is working on two games so expecting significant changes in these modes is asking for alot.

Judging by the KD "scene" we can see that shoes are still mirrored. Does this mean that player legs still aren't going to be different? No leg tats, size differential (Lanky, Muscular, Thick Builds), etc.

edit: Not too big of a deal but it always bugged me.

Out of all the next gen games I have seen this game's graphics have easily impressed me the most. Not only does it look next gen but it damn near looks real. Also love the song choice of krs one.

Totally looks like 2K's engine doesn't translate well to Next Gen.

Okay, you can see more of Lee's face in one of the shots. Looks like him. Or at least Ben Affleck, which is an improvement from current gen 2K.

Bogut with his constant grimace!

Ibaka's look of panic as Harden drives!

Facial expressions are on point this year! On both sides of the ball.
