MLB 14 The Show News Post

MLB 14 The Show will be available as a Day 1 digital download at 12:01 AM EST on May 6th. (SEE UPDATES BELOW) Similar to how users were able to download the PS3 version, expect it to be available at that time, give or take a few minutes.

It doesn't appear as though you will be able to pre-download, as some hoped with the latest PlayStation update. VG24/7 noted Watch Dogs will be the first game available for pre-download, releasing on May 27th.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 AM EST, the game is still not available to download.

UPDATE #2: Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We’ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE #3: Based off of the many responses, the download should be available for everyone now.

Does that mean that we West Coasters can start downloading at 9:01, or is it 12:01 in each respective time zone? (Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. This is my first time downloading a game on Day 1.)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was 9:01 pm last year too.

I sure hope I can download at 9.01. That would be sweet.

I'm buying the disc version, but this is kinda messed up. They just released/advertised the whole pre-loading feature like a week ago (?), and this is a first part Sony game, you'd think this would be the perfect title to kick things off.

Here's hoping for speedy downloads for you digital folks!

I'm in Atlantic time so I have to wait till 1:01am, it's gonna be a long night. Hopefully the download time isn't too bad.

Agreed. I often prefer to have the disc, but I figured I'd try out the digital download this time since (I assumed) I could pre-download it. Kinda kicking myself now. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to sleep for a little bit.

Pretty happy that I'll be able to download at 11 CT. I may just get a game in before going to bed tonight. Not going to count on it, but there is hope.

This is the part where I wish I was buying digital instead of having to wait until tomorrow morning.

Wow! Live in a big city? I live in a small rural(not sure this is the right word) kind of town at the Jersey Shore and I went to a midnight Gamestop a few years ago just because I was curious how many would show up. There were only like 5 people there and I was home by 12:15am(store is only literally 2 minutes from my house). However I am going digital for MLB because I keep my sports games anyway.

I downloaded the digital version of NBA 2K14 and it took FOREVER! I will never go the digital route on PS4 again without a pre load. I'll just pick it up at the store.

The only way it takes that long is if you have a slow dsl speed. Which you might but decent cable and you'll be faster..

Well if the average of 25/s is correct lots of us will get it much quicker than that..
