For those of you waiting for the PlayStation 4 version of The Golf Club, you don't have to wait much longer. The official Twitter account has announced that it will arrive on August 26th for $34.99.
Relax guys, I just tweeted @thegolfclub and they said that the store is not done updating, they load a few things at a time. I was assured that it will be there.
Thank you, appreciate the heads up. Was hoping that's how it worked.
I'm worried this game may be too difficult for me... Is the play experience adjustable in terms of difficulty
No it is not adjustable. Game has a learning curve so the more you play the better you will be. There is no shot strength meter so its all feel. That being said..courses themselves range from Easy to Hard so just stick to the easy courses until you get it down
Same as it does on a PC, I'd assume - provides a smoother framerate and less screen tearing at the expense of putting out the highest framerate possible.
Note: this game is not designed to run at 60 FPS, HB has said as much.
Yea, putting is going to take some getting used to...
Is anyone having a problem where the HUD doesn't fit on the screen? I searched another thread and read that this can be adjusted in the settings menu, but I don't see anything.
As you can tell by my score, I didn't exactly light it up my first time out lol. The putting doesn't seem to be very forgiving in this game, which is something that I like. I either didn't line them up straight enough or sent them too fast over the cup. I left a lot of shots out there. The game seems pretty fun, though. I dig it.
I got it for both One and PS4. Just finished a round on the PS4 version and there is noticeable lag at times as it seems to be skipping frames or something. I'm guessing servers are hammered as it had issues first day on Xbox as well, but not when it came to swing lag. I prefer the PS4 controller playing this as the sticks are tighter and easier to swing straighter. I have not noticed a huge difference in graphics between the two. Maybe better water reflections on PS4, but I'm going to fire up the same course on both shortly and compare. I am disappointed my course on Xbox version did not show on the PS4. I thought all courses were cross playable?
Edit: After comparing both versions I did notice the normal 1080p to 720p difference as the PS4 version is sharper with a tad better shading and color definition. It shows the difference is minimal though as I though both looked solid and most probably would not notice either unless they compare side by side and know what to look for.
I plan to get this game, still deciding between PC and PS4, but I've heard it suffers from a lot of optimization and performance issues. If that's the case, I may wait to buy until those main issues have been fixed. I really want to use the course creator, though. It looks considerably more intuitive than the last course editor I had to use (PGA Championship Golf by Sierra, if anyone remembers that game).
Has anyone played both the PC and PS4 versions and can compare them?
Just carded my first round of +2 at one of the official courses. Game looks beautiful IMO on the PS4. The actual gameplay of golf is incredible my only complaint is they make it a little too easy to hit 100% power and straight. Can't wait to fire it up on the PS4 OS tour. Game is a steal at $35 especially with the unlimited # of courses you can play via the community. EA should be afraid.
