Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson established himself as one of the best Madden NFL players in the NFL, taking home the trophy in Madden Bowl XXI on Thursday night in Scottsdale. Peterson triumphed over Washington Redskins Running Back Alfred Morris, Philadelphia Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy and San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick to claim the title.
This year the competitors took the field in Madden Ultimate Team, a special mode within Madden NFL 15 that allows players to create the most dominant lineup possible comprised of both modern NFL stars and the all-time greats of the game. Peterson utilized a ferocious backfield combo of Aaron Rodgers and Bo Sanders to keep his opponents off-balance and dominate while on offense. Peterson dispatched Alfred Morris in the first round, but faced reigning Madden Bowl Champion LeSean McCoy in the finals.
After Peterson’s team took a knee to run out the clock it was the Cardinals’ cornerback hoisting the Madden Bowl trophy for the loyal, local fans who braved rainy conditions to see their hometown hero compete.
For the first time ever, the tournament was streamed live on Twitch, and fans can now jump into Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 15 and play against the competitors’ teams in special Solo Challenges for a limited time.
