I'm impressed with this game as always. As far as the stream goes, there's nothing that really has a "Wow" factor for me. The Show is, by far, my favorite sports game of all time, and it has been since I started playing in '09. The improvements to this game are better and better each year. And while nothing literally jumps out of the screen for me, the subtle improvements (lighting, licensed equipment, etc.) show a commitment to making the game better each and every year. There really isn't a need for them to re-invent the wheel with this game. It's the most solid sports title on the market, and it actually plays a good game of baseball out of the box. With slider adjustments, you just can't beat the realistic baseball simulation that The Show provides, year in and year out. The Show '15 will be a release-day buy for me, just as it has been for the last six years.

And as a Dodger fan, I'm loving the improvement to the blue on the Dodger uniforms. If there was one thing that did "pop" for me, it was that. See? It's the little things that count. LOL

Seriously people. This world of immediate gratification and entitlement is creeping into video games now? How about you load up NHL 15 and realize how god-awful that sports game is, and then come back and play this excellently supported and developed game and remind yourself that you are playing something for fun, not for perfection.

I thought mlb 14 was rushed and it showed. It is VERY clear that they have had more time to work on this game. Is it perfect? Does it simulate being IN the ballpark? No, of course not. Does it look fun? Is there care and love put into the game? Do the developers listen to feedback? YES.

Stop complaining for the sake of complaining. Enjoy it or don't. Voice your opinion if you want. Just know that if you do voice your opinion, you are contributing to being a llama.

Contrary to popular belief around here.
He answered it like a politician meaning he didn't answer it, so there is no conclusion to be drawn from it like it seems you are trying to so here. Fact is that he couldn't say because there would be negativity brought upon either the brands or the game. Personally, I feel it would be naive to not consider each brand probably has their own agreement and that the value of some brands like nike and under armor would let them in for free. You know the boosts to attributes was one of the sponsors ideas or a SCEA/SDS idea to get an agreement.

Would that happen to be a master match-up screen for each team like 2K15 implemented? Where we can set up defensive shifts for every batter on every team...save. And then it is automatic every time we play said team.

That would be pretty awesome.

I would love for something like that. I also wish we could set pitcher's pitch confidence or give us player tendencies. So we can set what our pitchers throw in a certain situation. Like in an 0-2 count I want my pitchers to be more prone to throw a breaking ball in the dirt trying to get the batter to chase.

TNT is owned by Turner Broadcasting System. Who also happens to own TBS, which does show baseball games on Sunday afternoon. So they could go that route.

People voicing their opinions about games is what the site is all about. SCEA openly welcomes feedback from the community. (Ex. Community Day, wish list threads, stadium info threads, player celebration threads, etc.) Plus all of the "complaining" you can't stand. The truth is that fan opinions and observations have helped improve the game greatly over the years where as, ironically, statements like yours add next to nothing to the conversation.

Nitpicking "nitpickers" is utterly unproductive and I should know, I'm doing it right now.

Looking at the video just solidified my decision to stay with MLB 14 for another year. Im not upset at what I saw. Just that The show is such a solid product I just feel there isn't much that they can do to improve a great product.

I'm very satisfied with how 14 plays, so ill just get a roster update and stay with that.

# 93 echotripper76 @ 03/16/15 01:36 AM
You may not have noticed, but the mis-read outfield play you are referencing
at that point in the video is USER controlled and not an example of the AI Ramone is referencing.

Also, when Ramone states that the interviewer discovered another new feature, he was making note of there being less of the suction effect that used to happen as the player nears the catch location, meaning the player/user is more in control and less assistance is given than in games past.

Um...

This is a feature? This is "new"? What was it before? "Rudimentary AI Logic", patent pending? Why not call it, "Really Good CPU Brainness"? Or "Liquid AI"?

Just... I don't know what to say. And what's REALLY funny is what happens JUST as he's saying it. I don't know about, but if that's the product of said feature, seems kinda busted to me. But that's just me. Looking at that part, he could have called it "Advanced Artificial Stupidity", patent pending...

I think for RTTS players MLB 15 is only a minor upgrade. The only thing what they changed is licensed equipment and year to year save. I don't know are I buying MLB 15 or staying with MLB 14.

(Equipment on PS3 version is not seen during gameplay.)

Universal Rewards

Directional Hitting Interface
(PS3, PS4, VITA)

Featured for the first time in MLB 15 The Show is the new Directional Hitting interface, which allows you to influence the direction of your hits in real-time while you swing. Using the L-Stick, you can attempt to influence fly balls, ground balls, pushed hits, pulled hits, or any of those in combination. The most success will be had by swinging at pitches that are conducive to the hit direction you are aiming for. Outside pitches are better for hitting to the opposite field, while inside pitches are best for pulling. If no direction is pressed with the L-Stick, it’s just like using the old Timing Hitting interface. Like never before, Directional Hitting allows you to play into each hitter’s strengths and utilize the strategies of proper situational hitting.

Franchise Mode Refresh
(PS4, PS3, VITA)

With the addition of General Manager Contracts, you now have to consider Ownership Expectations when running your team, and your performance will determine the job offers that come your way. Building a championship-caliber team is more fun and dynamic than ever before, with the new Performance-based Player Progression, as well as much improved Trade and Contract logic. Partner up with Brand Sponsors, giving your broadcast elements an official sponsor and earn some extra dough to spend on your team.

Players and teams get Personality: Aesthetics and Emotion
(PS4 & PS3 Only)

Players on the field get improvements to show their individuality. (Necklaces, Tilted caps, etc..) Real-time situational/emotional AI scenes (dugouts, crowd, etc..) have also been added, and more Team and Player celebrations.

“Inside The Show” News Suite
(PS4, partial PS3)

Franchise, RTTS, and Season modes all feature a new suite of features centered on providing news updates from around the league. Inside The Show is a new radio broadcast that will be heard at the beginning of each new day and will discuss recent scores, notable performances, team news, milestones, records, standings, and more.

Diamond Dynasty Distilled
(PS4 & PS3 Only)

Diamond Dynasty is melted down to its core. Now driven by just a handful of systems, it is much more accessible and less daunting to manage. Driven heavily by a new collection based management system, everyone is building a Diamond Dynasty team just by playing any mode in MLB The Show.

New Slide Step System
(PS4 & PS3 Only)

Perform a slide step while pitching to combat pitchers with a slow delivery to the plate, or runners who consistently get great jumps. This “game within a game” creates a risk/reward factor when performing a slide step. The pitcher will now have less control and slightly less velocity when a slide step is executed, but will be quicker to the plate. As a runner, you now have to worry about your opponent using a slide step when you are attempting a steal.

Legends
(PS4, PS3, VITA)

We partnered with the MLB Player’s Alumni Association to make a total of 30 Legends playable in MLB 15 The Show. Collect an entire MLB team, and you’ll unlock an iconic alumni player from that team. There’s one from each team, and though you’ll have to find or unlock the card to slot them into your Dynasty squad, you can simply opt in to utilizing the whole pool of Legends in your Franchise mode.

Presentation Improvements

  • Dynamic stat based presentations
  • Split screen functionality
  • Real-time situational/emotional AI scenes (dugouts, crowd, etc.)

I'm struggling with the need to purchase MLB 15 right away because there weren't big changes in RTTS that I wanted to see which was outside of the gameplay stuff like endorsements, contract incentives, trophy rooms, etc. I've got to get it eventually because my MLB 14 save won't go to MLB 16 without 15 in the middle because I estimate it taking three game iterations for me to get through my entire RTTS career.

I'm banking on the gameplay tunings to make a difference in the RTTS game because those are key to me. For example, with my RTTS 2B I have to deal with a glitch that doesn't allow me to move my player pre-pitch at least once a game which sometimes results in not being able to get into double play positions. There are also the very bad bunts situations laid down by the AI, as well as AI running decisions and abilities. If I see improvements in those gameplay areas in MLB 15 it will be worth the purchase, but the truth of it is you don't see all the gameplay or presentation advancements in RTTS that often because the opportunities to see them is so filtered. I am looking forward to hearing the radio show, though I wish it auto-played because I'm not going to go to the schedule screen to kick it off very much (which is the way I understand it works in RTTS).

So for me, I hope those under the hood advancements in MLB 15 are as good as advertised and makes it worth it. But really, the game only cost $48 through Best Buy's GCU, so if I play MLB 15 as much as MLB 14, it will be worth it.

Changes to gameplay and franchise will have a small effect on it.
