You can see from the developer blogs that theu are trying to focus on more realism..
With that said, they still have not found a way to fix the clunky animation system and locomotion.
For this game to look and feel fresh, they need to completely re-write the animation system for movement. This game needs to animate as smoothy in motion as PES soccer, FIFA, NBA 2K etc...
When that happens, all these other nice additions should look a lot better.
Two Key things for Madden to turn the corner:
1. All new locomotion and player movement sytem.(This includes a complete re-write to player movement AND the way they animate in motion)
2. Player Specific Traits and Animations- Madden needs to adapt the NBA 2K player differentiation system (badges) and add thousands of player specific animations for ALL positions on the field.
The animation and movement system has been the glaring weakness since 06'. If they can figure that out we may be on our way to a great football game again.
- No warping ball to ODB jr’s one-handed catch. As OP it could potentially be at least it looked great even on .25 speed. HOWEVER, Aaron Rodgers pass at 0:13 secs seems to warp into Jordy’s hand. You have to play it at .25 speed to notice it.
- When slowed down to .25 speed you can see Eddie Lacy’s dreads swing as he jukes. Nice
The Bad
- Don’t know if they added team celebrations
- Crowd looks untouched
- 0:53 mark ODB’s one handed catch, we don’t get the full picture but it ends up with ODB/Shields falling with his hands on ODB’s back resulting with ODB making the crazy one handed catch. I really hope that’s not a canned animation if ppl spam user “Aggressive “catch with ODB.
- The Ugly
- Rodgers/Manning throw animations - When slowed down to .25 speed you really see the lack of fluidity in the animation.
Takeaway
Trailer didn’t scream a deff buy, nor did it show me anything I really hate. It’s a meh trailer. However the warping looks like it still exists in passing and I can assume it may still exist with tackles.

The Bad:
There are now females in the crowds.
Warping isn't suppose to exit in tackles and blocking anymore.
The blogs are linked in this thread and down below.
The E3 trailer didn't do the blogs justice.
CH-There is added locomotion to the the QB this year. I can't recall if other players received an upgrade.
"Quarterbacks will scan the field for open receivers, ball carriers will alternate their gaze between incoming defenders, and players will track other players around them after the play. You may even see players looking up at the scoreboard on a breakaway run."
"The quality of player motion has been a primary point of emphasis for the Madden NFL team for several years now. This year, we made huge strides in pre, post and during play motion quality. This touches several major systems like huddle break, walk to line, pile get up logic, pile avoidance, post play path finding and more. When it comes to in-game animation quality improvements, the list is endless."
"Players can expect a dramatic reduction in pops, warps, slides, and other issues in Madden NFL 16. This will continue to be a focal point for us as we strive towards our goal of animation quality."
These were my biggest issues with Madden 15. These improvements alone have me hyped!
Rex's comments were more about the blogs today, not E3.
The blogs stood out much more than E3.
That may be so. And it's my fault for interpreting Rex's comments the way I did. But taken in its entirety, even though the blogs did pep me up some (love the gangtackle potential), I still feel underwhelmed by the Madden news today. I wasn't expecting anything earth shattering, just a little more (especially presentation, which still may come...) I guess. I wanted to hear about more authentic broadcast elements, fan AI and stadium specific stuff like NHL has. Stuff that creates immersion. I know that's not Rex's area, but still...

Well, yeah, I hear you, but obviously, they still have presentation to show. They need to keep the momentum going until the game is released.
The blogs have me cautiously optimistic. I'm perfectly OK with very minimal upgrades to the graphics if the game animates better and they execute at least 75% of what's in those blogs well.
