NBA Live 16 News Post

The NBA Live 16 team posted a new blog today detailing the improved lighting and visuals in the game. As seen in the screenshots, the improvements are very noticeable. Not only are player faces scanned, they have also scanned jerseys, shoes, socks, environments and much more.

While it's great to see more player faces in the game, the team has also added many facial expressions. Whether the player is happy, upset, excited or maybe showing off the occasional mean mug, it will be on display without the zombie look in their eyes.

The lighting system has been completely overhauled, thanks to color corrections made across the board on nearly every asset in the game. They have also improved the jersey colors, skin tones and sweat effects. More details on the improved lighting and visuals are scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks.

I'm looking forward to A Davis too, he was awful last year....the screens look good though...

I hope there's a option to turn off post basket cuts as well...

Man, even these screenshots look better than what they released earlier this year.

I'm curious to see the difference in the build that they showed at E3, to the one that they will potentially show at Gamescon.

Well they did the build was old.

Someone said they played the game and he doesn't think they brought an old build to e3.

Hope they update Wiggins hairstyle.

Things can change day to day, drastically. Lighting, jerseys, faces are improved from build to build. Pretty crazy process to see.

I'm still not a fan of Wiggins scan, but everyone else looks on point.

Color palette looks more true to life this year. I'm also a big fan of the sweat in the screens.

This is the category that I feel Live has the other game beat in as of now, the colors and lighting in Live looks great and its still early, hopefully this will make the other game bring more focus to things like lighting and correct colors.

Ya I've never been a fan of the Wiggins face scan either. All of them look amazing imo. All I wanted graphics wise from this years game was for it to have bright colours like live 10 did. New lightning really makes the colours pop and I love it! Can't wait to see more screens.

Screens look great, but those new Clipper uniforms are an absolute eye-sore, lol.

It looks like along with the new Clippers jerseys, they seemed to have given Chris Paul a more accurate face than what he looked like in the trailer from e3. Great to see such terrific progression. Looking forward to gamescom next week

If this game can play and animate as well as it looks the competition better be ready.....

These look awesomely amazing.

One question though, are those 'gold' (yellow) jerseys of the Lakers, Cavs etc. the correct tone? Are they too much orange and not bright enough yellow? Also, in previous screenshots, the Warriors blue is waaay too light, it approaches Carolina blue when it should be a deeper, royal blue ...

With the amount detail Live puts into these players I really hope it's as noticeable during actual game play....Madden seems to suffer from the same thing...it's like once the game starts moving the graphics don't shine they do in replays and pictures....

The lighting is always amazing though

So glad that Live is finally going away from the "cartoon" player models. The difference between Live 15 and 16 is amazing. Might finally buy Live for the first time this year, will wait until I see what it looks like in motion and how it plays.

I'm really liking the fit of the jerseys this year, esp around the neck(collar?) area. Look at that pic of Nick Young last year compared to the new one, the collar looks and fits so much better. It was def a pet peeve of mine last year.

Can't wait to see the sleeved jerseys, I'm feeling quite good that they updated those as well. Last year's sucked.
