NBA 2K16 Adds '07-'08 Boston Celtics & '12-'13 Miami Heat to List of Classic Teams

2K Sports has added the '07-'08 Boston Celtics (previously revealed) and '12-'13 Miami Heat to the list of classic teams in NBA 2K16.

There will be 12 new classic teams added this year, 8 of them have now been confirmed.

Here is the list of confirmed classic teams so far:

'12-'13 Miami Heat
'03-'04 Detroit Pistons
'07-'08 Houston Rockets
'99-'00 Toronto Raptors
'07-08 Boston Celtics
'00-'01 Los Angeles Lakers
'02-'03 Dallas Mavericks
'99-'00 Portland Trail Blazers

Two more teams will be revealed next Thursday.

Boring second selection, I didn't realize three years is now considered "classic." So many better options to go with. Could have even gone with the 05 Heat

I guess my idea of a "classic" team is very different from 2k's. How is a team that is barely 2 seasons old considered a "classic".

So far these additions are extremely lackluster. I know licensing plays a role but give us some more 90's and earlier teams.

Hopefully they at least focused on the already terrible next gen classics as others mentioned in other threads. If not, this whole mode will be a huge whiff.

The Celtics team I can dig......12-13' heat is a wasted slot in my opinion should have gone with 05-06 heat if they was goin with heat or at least a heat team with Zo and Tim Hardaway....bad pick there

The '13 Heat are a classic but the team is too recent, they should be put on future 2k titles but not now

Honestly Watching Boston those six years go up against Cleveland, LA then later Miami was amazing. Each Series was great for all to watch! Can't wait to try and replicate that in 2K16.

I wouldn't count on it. Doesn't look like they are digging deep with these additions. These are 'low hanging fruit' additions with teams full of guys who are in the game or still on the game disc. Nothing so far is indicating that they have added major players/teams.

But if the Suns or Pacers teams are in this, those would be the last ones announced I'd imagine.

Yeah thinking more and more of that heat selection makes me more disappointed in that selection they should have taken 06 Heat

Anyway, I'm all for younger versions of guys already in the game. Pumped for younger versions of Ray, Pierce and KG, as well as Superman LeBron. This is going to make my "classic players included" MyLeague tremendous.

Yeah I've they have 93 Suns, 2000 Pacers I would buy 2 copies...1 to play and one to keep in plastic

Yeah clearly these teams aren't really 'classic' but more 'retro'

But a team from 2/3 years ago can't even be considered classic or retro lol. Not really a fan of these additions. I don't use classic teams anyway. I'm just really confused/disappointed they're now adding 2013 teams as classic. Lebron has only been a new Cav for 1 year lol

Umm not really feeling this one, but MAYBE we will have two different Lebron, Wade, and Bosh cyber faces to choose from now, or more then likely one Lebron with a Headband and one without it.

I agree with others though the 06 team would have made more sense to me as a classic team, can a team from two years ago be a classic team already??
