'12-'13 Miami Heat is "classic" but yet the champion '78-'79 Seattle Supersonics are not.

Reason I ask is because when I'm taking a break from gaming, I usually watch Iverson score 40+ on the Spurs, the throwback sonics and Kobe [emoji16]

They didn't get rid of any teams, just added 12 new ones.

Well they definitely can get rid of the 98 team. They really need to get rid of the repeat squads though like the 96 97 and 98 Bulls. One would do just fine, then they could replace them with someone like the 79 Sonics and 05 Wizards.

They have one Celtics and and two Lakers teams (one is like 90). And they have 6 Jordans in the game. That is plenty.

I actually wouldn't mind 2K keeping those teams on board unless it was absolutely necessary from a disk space perspective to get rid of them. I say the more the merrier. I like the idea of still having a Forum version of Kobe & Shaq in addition to their championship squads. And squads like the '96 and '98 Bulls... there's enough idiosyncratic details that make me say "Keep 'em if you have no reason to get rid of 'em."

Quick list of teams I'd like to see next year:

66-67 76ers

49-50 Minneapolis Lakers

01-02 Kings

02-03 Nets

I'd even be pumped to see a 61-62 Philadelphia Warriors team if only to use a completely ridiculous and game breaking Wilt Chamberlain.

I don't mind the Cav's pick.

I played a whole season with the 2001 Sixers...and it was a fun struggle getting that team wins, it's was horrible when A.I wasn't in the game lol

I'm assuming the Cav's will be even more difficult...might give it a swing...

2K is adding 12 new teams and (as far as we know) not removing any. Why would they need to get rid of teams in the game to add more. Might as well just keep adding teams & keep the ones we have

The struggle is real with those 2001 76ers. It's a great hands-on tool as a means of educating the youth of what operating as the 2001 76ers was really like. "Allen Iverson's in foul trouble and my go-to offensive threat is now... Jumaine Jones?!"

They've gotten rid of teams like the Kings in the past...even though I know it was because of C Webb

I dont know how many people use the oldest teams. I don't at least since they removed that classic presentation they had. Probably more for me because the rules and stuff aren't totally different like it was for that era as well.

Looking at the general audience they go after in marketing, you never see those super old teams get brought up because they can't market that to those 15 year olds

I don't use the old teams, I just take the 4-5 best players out from each and put them in my franchise to use. They could easily just put in "All Decade" teams with 13-15 guys each for the 60s/70s and everyone would be happy. That would cut the team list by 6 just doing that.

I use the legends from those teams for my MyLeague. I rarely use the entire team as one unit. May have to have some 04-05 Suns vs today's Warriors matchups this game, though.

I think the question remains, however, what makes us believe that 2K has to cut teams? And if they don't have to, then why would they? The teams are already made, they exist, there's no hint of them being a monetary burden, and no one is ever forced to use them.

As a result, there's really only a positive benefit to their inclusion. The people who like using them (raising hand) get the joy from using them while the people who could not care much less about them, get the joy from not using them.

I definitely wouldn't be happy, I like using bill Russell's Celtics even the wilt Jerry west Celtics, there's only like 5 teams from the 60's & 70's in the game anyway removing them serves no purpose
