LD2K and Ronnie 2K revealed the NBA 2K16 MyPLAYER height restrictions per position, during their Twitch Livestream. If you missed it, you can watch the archive here.

Check out the height restrictions below.
  • Point Gaurd: 5'7"- 6'7"
  • Shooting Guard: 5'10" - 6'8"
  • Small Forward: 6'3" - 6'10"
  • Power Forward: 6'5" - 7'0"
  • Center: 6'8' - 7'3"
They also mentioned a few other details, we wanted to list:
  • Dependent on your style and height (both small and tall), attributes will fluctuate.
  • 6'7 PG's will be one of the slower points guards in the game
  • 3 scoring styles (inside, outside & balanced) that determine your caps, alongside height.
  • No more 7 foot small forwards that shoot like Ray Allen and dribble like Kyrie Irving.
  • Bigs will play like bigs
Plenty of other smaller details were revealed as well, so make sure you watch the archive here.

Good stuff. I'll probably go with the balanced 6'2 PG like I normally do though.

Using a 6'6 SG was a struggle at times because everyone was a SF or 7'3 Center. Looks like I'm going to be making a 6'6 195-205 lbs SG again. It should be fun seeing variety now. I'm happy they brought this system back but why did they go away from it in the first place? I remember the 2K insider telling me about how height and weight affects attributes in 2K11.

So is FT and mid range shooting still locked to 3 point shooting? If I made a PF/C and I wanted to be able to step out 15 FT or just hit some FTs will I automatically become Dirk or Sabonis? There are great slashers who can't shoot 3s but can hit 80% from the FT line, some 3 point shooters can't shoot from mid range, a lot of players can shoot from mid range but not from outside, etc. Maybe they clarified this already.

This. So many teens play this game. Probably more than us older gamers. Must of them dont read any of the gameplay blogs etc, they just buy and play. They definitely start crying over not being able to cheese with the 7 foot players.

Yeah, I hope they bring back separate attributes again instead of those categories.

I wonder what the secret feature Ronnie and LD are holding back to tell us

FINALLY no more 7 foot SF cheese! Implementing cap penalties based on height should really encourage people to create a variety of different player types and sizes. Now you kind of have to pick your strengths and weaknesses. And you also have to make sure you play with others who compliment those strengths and weaknesses when making a team for pro am. Sounds fun. I'll be making my 6'7 220 pound SG again this year.

Exactly. The kids are going to cry when they can't zig zag to the corner with Kyrie's handles and pull 3's like Steph. Don't change a thing, 2K!!!

I mean they might be able too... But at least if they can, make them do it with a 6'2" rather than a 7' SF... This will give teams that play good team defense a shot to defend it...

I've been telling my crew to just play our game, don't give into the cheese, because if 2k fixes this we will be very good playing the D we play and knwoing how to play actual basketball... I'm excited to see our 1-3-1 trapping zone and 2-3 zones in 2k16.
