The Birds have fallen
Posted on January 19, 2009 at 01:45 PM.
Yes today for me is pretty bleak. It is Martin Luther King day. Great speaker and an inspiration to everyone. But being an Eagles fan makes anyday bad even if it is Christmas when they lose a game. Especially a game of that magnitude. Ughh I watched the game in my house yesterday. It was 24-6 at half and I was like this game is over. The Birds were basically left for dead. They made a strong comeback in the third quarter and even took the lead in the fourth. But our defense didn't come through and McNabb couldn't lead us back. Now on Monday morning we have to sit here wondering what happened. Was it defense? Was it Akers missing all those kicks? Was it the woeful first half offense who only put up 6 points? I think we lost collectively. It was just a total mishap of a game. This offseason we must look at bringing in another tailback another offensive lineman, maybe two. We must find a replacement for Dawkins once he retires soon. A lot of things need to be done. We need a superbowl. It's great the Phils broke the curse. But the Eagles have a curse of their own I think. Themselves. I don't know what it is. But that game signified how the Eagles play. They bring you up to a point of happiness only to let you down in the end. I'm upset but we have a solid team. Maybe we can do something next year. I don't know but hopefully maybe Donovan and Andy can hoist a Lombardi trophy soon. For them for the team and for every Eagles fan in Philly and around the world. Good season but as we have said many times, maybe next year.
