After some careful thought, I decided to go ahead and get Madden '13. Granted, I've been on here and heard all the pros and cons and I must've read various reviews as well as visited the Madden section of the Forums here to gain some insight.

I'm still playing '12 and I'm enjoying my Franchise very much, but I also am curious as to see if I can't gain at least some enjoyment from CC mode in this year's game.

Two positives I've heard from various OS'ers about Madden ... Read More

Who's the best linebacker in the NFL? Clay Matthews capped off a great year last year for Green Bay with a big win in the Super Bowl over the Steelers. Patrick Willis named by ESPN recently as the league's best overall linebacker performs well for the perpetually underachieving 49ers.

NFL fans, who would you take, Patrick Willis or Clay Matthews? Why?

Okay, this probably has been done, but I still think it's interesting. If you were an NBA GM, what NBA player would you choose to start your franchise with and why?

Call me old-fashioned but I miss the days when video games required gamers to use buttons and controllers. There was just something visceral about the whole experience. Sure, your fingers hurt like hell and your thumbs were sore, but there was a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Granted, I have a vested interest in controller-based gaming because of my limited dexterity, but the movement away from button controlled gaming concerns me just because not every gamer likes analog ... Read More

Let me start this by saying that every gamer is different and to each their own. But for the life of me, I just can't get into playing video games online. The extent to which I go online is to check for updates/patches, download rosters, and occasionally purchase DLC for the few games I do own.

The main reason I don't go online is that I hardly have time. With me pursuing my 2nd degree, I just don't have the time to devote to playing much.

I also have heard plenty ... Read More

I can understand why the lock out is in place. It boils down to money. Yes, the NFL is a business and needs to make money to survive and should be able to do so. But, having said that, the lock out is just a big "f... you" to the millions of fans who are passionate about the sport.

Please Mr. Goodell swallow your damn pride, sit down with the players, and get a deal done ASAP so that we can have NFL football this year. You owe it to the fans who help make the NFL what it is today. ... Read More

Despite the uncertainty that surrounds the NFL season, I'm actually quite excited for this year's edition of Madden NFL '12 especially after seeing the recent videos that showcase the presentation improvements and gameplay.

I'm most interested to see what improvements/enhancements that have been made to Franchise mode since I'm more of an offline gamer. If the guys at EA have made significant changes to Franchise that make it deeper and more enjoyable to play, then I'll no doubt ... Read More

I know that some of the hotter games out there are like SOCOM or COD and that many of my fellow OS'ers enjoy playing them. However, I am one of the few that does not. There are legitimate reasons for this.

First, because of my physical disability, my reaction time and hand/eye coordination and reflexes aren't great. As a result, I'd get killed too quickly and too often as it is.

Second, I prefer sports games or action or fighting games.

Third, I don't ... Read More

Sometimes the draft goes the way fans want it to.. and then other times, it has the potential to blow up in your face. Don't believe me? Just look at the debacle that transpired last night that was the 6th pick for the Atlanta Falcons.

What was the logic in sacrificing your entire draft for a WR who the scouts and experts say cannot catch a football? Why get hoodwinked into giving away your draft and totally "drop the ball" (pun intended) on a guy that may or may not pan out? ... Read More

Let me preface this by saying that I have been a lifelong 49ers fan dating back to when the team was winning Super Bowl titles with Joe Montana. I don't consider myself a hardcore NFL fan by any means but I do like watching games on Sunday as well as try to keep up with what's going on and also play Madden every year to get my NFL fix.

With all that said, I honestly was excited to see how my beloved Niners would go in the draft. I was holding out hope that they would go with Patrick ... Read More
