Why would it be so wrong?

Why would it be so wrong for sports games to take the Battlefield 3 approach? By that I mean, adding to an existing game versus rereleasing almost the same thing year after year. I know that some will say money, but I have invested enough into BF3 that I have bought two different games. Graphics can only get so good on the current console generation, and even the next will have its ceiling also. So why not create a good base game with an online franchise, server side based, and focus on it for a ... Read More

Red Atchley, better known as Catfish Red, was drafted straight out of high school by the Yankees organization. My Thoughts on Diamond Dynasty

First off, I am one of the biggest fans out there for The Show and I believe it is the best overall sports game franchise ever. However, like many other loyal Show fans I was excited about the new mode Diamond Dynasty (DD), but in my opinion it fell way short of it's hype. MLB The Show ONLINE Franchise

I think many will agree that MLB The Show is by far the best baseball game in the gaming market. I personally feel that the Show crew is light-years past the 2ksports group. However, I really wish they would attempt an online franchise mode. This would put an already great game over the top. Online RTTS Mode for the Show!?!

MLB '09 The Show is already a great game, but I think adding another online gameplay mode with RTTS would put it over the top. Maybe max it out at 8 or 10 users and have a similar setup like NCAA Football Online Dynasty with each user controlling their player. You could even have personal bragging rights on being the #1 drafted player out of your league, first one to get a 100 hits, first with 50 HR, first to reach 30 steals, etc....

EASports in ‘09: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

In 2008/09 EASports took a huge step forward in online gaming this year. However IMO they took their top five games in a different directions. Maybe they are testing the waters in ‘09!?!? As for the top five I’m talking about it is NCAA Football ‘09, Madden ‘09, NBA Live ‘09, NCAA Basketball ‘09, NHL ‘09. Here are my takes on those games.

EA Sports not making another NASCAR

We can only hope they are not! For the most part EA is great for sports gaming, but NASCAR is not one of their strong spots. When they took over the rights for NASCAR gaming they killed a great long running of NASCAR games that Papyrus put out. NASCAR Racing 2003 Season was the best in my opinion. You were able to have custom car, paint schemes, tracks, even was able to customize your pit crew if you want to take the time.
