Steinbrenner Interested In...Winfield Again!
With the Jets and Cowboys seeking to ink cornerback Antoine Wingfield, the Boss has decided to put things to rest and make a massive offer to the football player.
"Can he play second base?" Steinbrenner has reportedly been asking everyone in his office. Brian Cashman and Joe Torre have been trying to convince the Boss that it's not Dave Winfield he would be signing again, but an unrelated player in an entirely different league and sport. But apparently it's not working. "We may have to go with a new approach and just remind George what a pain in the ass Winfield was when he signed him in the first place," Cashman said.
