I gotta say, I sure am glad Hartford has a human owner. Something just isn't right around here when that team doesn't have one. So I hope cramsey is enjoying himself.

Nine Crackers on that AS squad. Many of them had oddly down years last year. I guess they were due for a bounce back. Hope they can keep it up.

Figures. I often cave down the stretch. Hopefully, I can stay out of third at least. But even that isn't certain. 4 GB isn't too far with this many games left.

Four of those games against Alan. He probably swept me. Three against Brooklyn. Commo probably swept me.

And in the middle was a three game gimmie against Baltimore--and at best I took one game from them. Yuck.

This is in reference to August 22-September 1, so no one gets confused about this post following DC's.

No shock to see Alan doing his thing, as usual.

Wooo! And wow, way to go Jack Jones.

Now if we can keep a lead going into September, I'll be a happy Ranchero.

Awesome.

Another chance to lose an appalling series to Alan.

Well, even a broke clock is right two times a day--as long as it's not digital.

Glad I made it to the playoffs at least.

Congrats to all the playoff teams, which I see includes some repeats.

Pretty sure that'll mean Jack is the Rookie of the Year. If not something's messed up.

BTW, Jones has a similar seeming skillset to my SS Millard Montgomery, who also came in as a rookie last year and blew everything up with his hitting, finishing .358. I forget if he actually won the title, but, regardless, he did indeed win the 2004 CL ROY.

I don't know why, but for quite a while now I haven't had ANY team graphics in my game. I have player pics with all the right unis, but no team pics where the graphics are supposed to be. Do we have a zip of these anywhere?

I put images into this file. So they should show up when you download. If not, I'll create a zip @ work when I go back either this weekend or Monday, because I have them all there and I need them here too.

File is up. Classic sim is Sunday night after the Super Bowl ends! But the export deadline remains the same. So don't wait until after the game to start working on your team. That wasn't a pot-shot, I promise. I just wanted to clarify, because my original post might have been easily misconstrued to mean that the deadline was after the game.

Well, after further review....well you tell me what you think will happen:

Colorado vs.:
Ann Arbor: 25-7
Compton: 19-13
Hartford: 22-11
New York: 21-11

Boston? 9-24

Do I even bother showing up?

I don't have access to the file yet (away from my ootp computer until late tonight/tommorrow).. Based on the all star game rosters though, it sounds like my pitching did indeed implode like I figured it would.

Unfortunately to do well in the playoffs, you need strong pitching, so that likely will be a mark against me making it back to the Classic this season.

Well, nice to be back in the playoffs, nice battle with Colorado for the division, but a shame to come up one game shy of a pennant...

We need to elect two new members of the BOD. gstelmack's at-large term was up last year, apparently (he was just finishing out Kaosfere's term) and Tasan's RL stint ends this year.

So we need a new RL rep and an at-large rep. Any nominees?

Also, the BoD approved a measure last year -- but I forgot to post -- that we'll add a third level of minors starting next year. So after this off-season, we'll add an A level to the minor leagues. The hope is that by doing that, we'll be able to better develop prospects.

Are we going with the roster limits I suggested? Dropping AA to 25, and Single A only 25?

One of the keys for me was to be sure we didn't expand too much. The limits above only creates 10 more roster spots in every organization.

Unfortunately to do well in the playoffs, you need strong pitching, so that likely will be a mark against me making it back to the Classic this season.

Yer nuts, of course. You had the best pitching in the league.

As much as I've enjoyed it, I think someone else should take the RL BoD spot this go round. I've served at least 2 terms, maybe 3 I can't remember, so new ideas are good at this point. Of course, if no one else wants to, I'll nominate myself again so we have the spot filled.

Yes.

I don't know if this was part of the discussion on this, but once upon a time when that draft bug (that hit Brooklyn this year) was first identified by OOTP, they highly recommended keeping the lowest level of your minor leagues at 40 players to lessen the chances of running into this.

Just tossing it out there as something to consider. Obviously it didn't help too much this time for Brooklyn though, but you likely will encounter it more often if people keep the lowest level of the minors "full".

Hmm. We could keep our limit at 25, I suppose, but have the actual limit at 40 in the game. Would that work? Mostly I just wanted to be sure we weren't adding too much of a burden for people to manage another minor league level. I really think cutting down the minors has helped with running teams.

I didn't know that draft bug was tied in any way to a 40 man limit. How weird (of course, way to go Markus!).

I wondered about this and I think that our limit should remain 25, even though the game will allow for 40, because of that sign/release bug. Good suggestion, CR.
