Nothing is more serious than a bunch of old white guys vaginating about their hatred of pop music.

The woman who I'm beginning to date showed me something she got from a guy a couple of months ago. It was a Call Me Maybe business card. He had a striped tie on it; I swear it's a piano tie.

Okay...now do one with just those Nebraska girls. Jesus.
I would include Minnesota in there too if they could have afforded an HD camera. |

For the past 40+ years, we've had overproduced/overhyped young pop stars, so that part is no different. What is different, imo, that those of today simply cannot carry a tune. I listened to those massively popular youtube videos and in almost every case, the pop stars are singing off-key and embelish/shriek/rap way too much in order to hide the lack of singing ability. I guess we're not supposed to pay attention to the music but only the looks and moves.

I used to think that, but have since come to the conclusion that their target audience simply likes the "embellish/shriek/rap" and autotune sound more than a straight talented singer. So that's who succeeds and that's who's copied. In other words. We are old. Last edited by jeff061 : 08-11-2012 at 12:00 PM. |

Sadly this was the theme song to the summer school I was at. Everyone sang it....forcing me to use it for a skit on open mic night. Somewhere, there's a picture of me dancing to this song as the MC of the skit. I shall die now.
I loved the Cookie Monster version. Brilliant! |

That Ben Howard cover was good. Liked the Cookie Monster one as well. The Jepsen one is hilarious. And the Dolphins cheerleaders...can't go wrong with professional cheerleaders.
