Newton seems like he can go 7 yards off left tackle any time he wants

What happened to the old rule where the network would switch away from a bonus coverage game when the National Game started?

Only applies in a must carry local situation IIRC.

Like Dallas would have switched over already

Can we either get a 72 yard TD pass or a pick 6 on this play?

(sorry, getting impatient)

I'm so sorry you have to sit through overtime between two playoff contenders instead of getting to watch the first quarter of another game between two playoff contenders. :P

A game between two teams that I couldn't care less about versus a game between my second team and a team I hate...

Guess Dalton needed to go another yard left on the kneel down.

Part of me wishes I was still living in Morgantown, WV, in the PA broadcast zone, so I could have watched the Browns just spank them today.

I was in a bar in San Francisco and there was a dog pound chant. Maybe the first time since the Bernie Kosar era?

He did have the one really weird duck interception, but other than that, he played his ass off.

Nugent missed the kick but why did Marvin Lewis just settle for the FG on the 20 yard line? There was 40 seconds left and he had a TO. Try picking up another 10 yards then settle for the chip shot.

Dalton had two INTs already.

It'll mean no-tiebreak-needed for both teams at the end of the season.

36 yards, man. Kickers in the NFL hit that at something like a 95% clip I think.

Somebody needs to put Stockton out to pasture.

(Yes Dick - the xp to make it 14-10 was to tie it up. Because 14 = 10. Also, that penalty on the punt return was totally for "holding in the back.")

Even at an 80% clip, they played that right. No excuses on Nugent. 36 yards is already a chip shot.

Carolina did a great job at using Cincinnati's aggressiveness against them. Lot of good mis-direction. Defense looks worse than average the last two weeks.

Fully agreed. Continuously biting on the RB fakes was frustrating to watch.

I think in that game especially its very easy for both teams to see all things they could have done slightly better to allow them to win the game. Gano missed a FG that he rarely misses earlier in the game too which I was regretting quite a bit in the second half of the 4th quarter. I thought Carolina got a little conservative at the end of their drive in OT, Cotchery had a legit chance at the TD grab in the end zone on 2nd down in OT, not an easy catch but one he absolutely could make, etc, etc, etc.

The Bengals d-line stinks. Geno isn't back to normal and Hunt can't hold the edge the way Johnson did.

Some random thoughts:

1) You can't even call Rodgers the sure fire best QB in the NFL, much less best player. (Which was the discussion with Watt, Sherman, etc.) If we are talking MVP, there are a lot of guys who are incredibly valuable to their teams and most of them play QB. Osweiller, Tarvarius Jackson, Nssib, Yates, Clemens. The fan bases of all those teams would throw in the towel on any playoff hopes they had if those QB's took over.

2) Seattle is very good this year, but they are not nearly as dominant as last year. Not even close. Something is missing on both offense and defense. Lynch could be added in that MVP debate above. I have no idea how Seattle would replace his physical running if he were to get injured. They have time to get hot and become dominant and they might do it, but right now they are beatable.

3) Blake Bortals looks pretty damned good. Still has a lot to learn, but it looks like Jax has the QB of the future now.

4) I have always thought Hoyer could play. He seemed to get injured everytime he had a chance. Good to see him succeeding.

5) I'm so glad Seattle isn't my favorite team. I cannot stand that football team. Really, really cannot stand it.

he looks really good. A lot of drops from the Raider receiving core. He's putting the ball where it needs to be and allowing guys to run with it after the catch. It's pretty impressive to watch.

I think it is time to ask the question, how good of a job is Rod Marrineli doing?

This question should also be asked: How funny is it to see Pete Carroll, the Seahawks players and the Seahawks fans cry about questionable PI calls not being called against the other team?

Let's go Cowboys. Terrance Williams on that sick first down catch... They deserve to win just for that. But the whole game has been a heck of an effort.

This post guarantees them a loss, I'm afraid.

DeMarco Murray is really having a hell of a year. I vote him as the guy that has turned the Cowboys fortunes around. A back like that does wonders for an offense.

2014 NFL Regular Season, Week 6

They had Murray last year, and he led the league in YPC. It is the play calling that is the difference this season.

And to think how bad of a hire people, self included, thought it was. Detroit is still only tied with the Packers, and they have to play @GB yet. Beating GB is bad enough. In GB? This is going to be a year that the Lions are going to want to win their division.

Is that a compliment? I mean, hell, isn't it time the Tony Romo garbage stops? I mean, I know in ten years this will get spun. Tony Romo never won a big game. Someone will say "well, what about Seattle" and someone else will smirk and laugh it off like what happened today was a joke.

Last time someone put up 30 points on that team in Seattle was week 8 of the 2011 season. (The Bengals)

Good for Tony today. Happy for him.

If you look back, I get laughed at for being a Romo supporter. So it was more snark than anything else.

me on the field last year after the collapse against Green Bay:

I think that was one of the dumber challenges I have ever seen. It looked like down by contact in live action. Looked like it in slow motion, looked like it on green eggs, looked like it on. . . oh forget it. What a dumb ass challenge. It was like he decided he only wanted to have one more challenge in the game. Incredibly stupid and short sighted.

cartman,

The people who hate Romo have obviously never had to watch garbage QB's for a decade or more. I think they are playing over their heads right now. Huge win today, but I think they will come down to earth and the D will get exposed some. nobody will remember this win at that point. It'll be something about a Romo collapse that caused everything. You can take that one to the bank.

Foles just threw a pass about as well as one can be thrown. I figured Coughlin would challenge the extra point. May as well waste the other one.
