RFL 2011 Offseason

You have until sometime tonight to look at transfers and whatnot. I was recording them when a certain 2 month old girl decided I had a higher priority than fake football. We're going to follow EBFL's lead and just go ahead and sim past the transfer stage (all transfers will be accepted, so you can just cut a guy if you end up not wanting him). So if you want to look for yourself, do it before midnight or so (which is when I think I'll get another chance to finish recording the transfers/early departures.

Are we not allowed to talk guys into staying? Wasn't sure if that was a house rule.

Doesn't work for online guys, only the commish. It's a huge glitch in the game but one they say they addressed in 2010. You can do it but it won't recgonize it.

We lost a quality DT to SDSU via transfer, but the early departures aren't too bad. Surprisingly, Corp is coming back for another year. Should be an interesting battle between him and Lumpkin. I'm disappointed to see Chris Galippo, aka Chapman, go but it was very expected as were all of the other early departures.

I'll likely be out of commish for a few days. Had surgery on Tuesday and still recovery.

We're just advancing past the transfers, so all transfers are automatically accepted. Then guys can just cut transfers if they don't want them.

We're on to offseason recruiting stage one now.

Oh sweet. THanks for posting that stuff. WTF, I lost a stud LOLB to USC?
Are you kidding? That sucks, haha. Also, my beastly TE Middleton is sticking around. Cool.

Wow. We did have an opening for a starter here with the graduation of our stud senior, so I guess he realized he had a chance to be a starter at a big time program.

Thanks. This surgery was not fun (not painful really, just not fun with a good amount of recovery time). Hopefully in the next day or two I'll be back online.

I don't understand why he would come to Notre Dame. We landed the nation's top rated cornerbacks in the east of the last two off-seasons, along with another 5-star recruit. They are already stars.

Even though I lost a couple of freshmen who didn't really play, I spent a lot of resources recruiting them. I'm sorry to see them go. With my recent focus on improving the defensive line, however, I am very glad to get a DT rated 77. It will be an interesting year in Minnesota, even if I don't expect it to be overly successful.

Nice to know I'll still be playing Dex every year in what will be the battle for the best Indepedent team in the country (though he'll have some work to do in getting that talent level up).

Part of me is glad is because also because I know it will be a great shot in the arm for conference prestige as well (which was sup par last year in pitching to recruits).

As for Watkins, eh....I signed him because I wanted to get a backup quarterback and build a pipeline into Texas (3-star recruit at the time). I'll have to go out and get another QB on the recruiting trail to bring with Watkins and Clausen. However, I'm not sure how good the other quarterbacks are on your roster (and a option-minded offense as well).

Well recruiting will suck. I have a few guys I'll for sure get but the rest of my board is throwing everything I have at the wall and seeing what sticks. I plan on making every promise imaginable to get guys.

Your offensive roster is pretty limited by option-focused guys as well, correct?

I'm feeling better today and got my stuff done.

Hmmmm ... I'm mderrick and I did my recruiting last night. When I logged off in showed I had no time remaining. The last two showing time remaining when I logged off were Pumpy and kodos. Can someone else verify?

I'll get this week in today, but my anniversary will probably prevent me from recruiting any the next few days. If I'm the only one left, don't wait for me.

Thanks guys. I didn't get in week 2 the other night as planned, but I will get that in tonight (would have done it right now while wife is cooking dinner, but the servers are down) or tomorrow morning before she wakes up. Just not sure about week 3 (or week 4 if we advance quickly.)

Grr. Can't get on the EA servers, and I'm getting sleepy. Feel free to advance this week without me if I don't get recruiting done.

Penn State leapfrogs over USC to the #1 recruiting class spot with the signing of several key 4* players.

Mizzou inches up to No. 3 in recruiting. Not nearly as many 5-star guys as Penn State and USC but we are scooping up 4-stars left and right. Hoping to pickup some more this week but don't know if we have any recruits in the tank to take the title.
