What a majorly disappointing season so far and I don't know if I should blame it on my own suckitude or sliders. My defense is God awful even though they are rated somewhat higher than last year. They just can't tackle. It's pretty routine now that it's about my 4th or 5th guy that can make the tackle. I've seen some super human plays by the offense this season. On one play, their QB threw into double coverage. My guys literally latched onto their WR while he was in the air almost like they were ready to carry him off the field on their shoulders for a parade. When all 3 landed, the WR basically super humanly dwarf tossed my two defenders and waltzed into the end zone. I'm well on my way to having the worst defense in the nation this season.

I signed my first recruit, a 4* QB rated 73. My current starter is a junior, so I'll redshirt this guy and start him for 4 years.

On the field, I got absolutely wrecked by Virginia Tech, they had a number of really long TD plays, including a 99 yard pass (I got stopped on 4th and goal and tried to run blitz assuming they would run to get out of their own end zone... they did not). UNC is still winless in my division, while I was able to steal one conference win a few weeks ago, so a late season South Alabama/UNC matchup to see who gets demoted is a little closer to being a reality.

Sorry. Either the defensive difficulty for Humans needs to be decreased or the ability of the AI offense needs to be decreased. This week is a good example. Through 6 games, we have allowed 49 points per game.

Just a heads up - I had some unexpected things come up last weekend, and wasn't able to get my game in. I may be able to sneak it in before I go on vacation tomorrow, but if not, I won't be able to play until next Sunday.

Ok. Thanks.

I agree.
I have a highly ranked team and still undefeated, but I also have a high 80s ranked team (Offense and Defense) and against 70 ranked Offenses I am getting zero stops per game. It is either an INT, Fumble or score. At best I am hoping for caths out of bounds, or the rare sck to put them in crazy down and distance positions.

I am not sure what the exact answer is but CPU offenses seem to score at will with laser accurate passing and tecmo bowl bo jackson rbs.

I wonder if everyone is seeing this? To this point Ive just assumed it was poor personnel I needed to improve.

My defense doesn't stop much, but I chalk a lot of it up to my suckiness.

We could try lowering CPU QB accuracy.

Another 4Q comeback by Lamb...who had a horrible game (2 fumbles, 1 INTs) but still managed to rack up the rushing yards.

I don't know if it's the sliders or the game but we have managed to come from 21 and 28 points down on the road in back to back weeks.

We are now bowl eligible at 6-1

Red zone turnovers are killing me this season. They've cost me at least 2 games so far. Having a recovered fumble TD return called back on review hurt as well. Now we welcome Florida State. I'm sure that will turn out well for us.

We are ready to advance.

Really not sure what is going on but this has turned into a very frustrating game for me. Literally the only way I am moving the ball is toss sweeps, and I am routinely having a RB go over 250 yards in a game. My RB has 1350 through 7 games and he missed 2 full games and a 3 quarters of another.

On Defense the opposing team throws against me at will. The onyl incomplete passes ever are throw aways or wild errant throws. 18-20 play drives are the order of the day. And on 3rd down they are running over multiple would be tacklers. All the normal EA garbage.

We trailed 28-0 before it let me come back and lose 35-32 Once they went up 35-7 it put the absolute brakes on them. We rallied but too late.

I posted a thread regarding the other dynasty, but this is becoming a chore to play these days. I hate the slider set we are using, but fear I am alone in that. Literally every other slider tweak we have tried has been better, IMHO.

I've been trying to get people to discuss the sliders and/or suggest a good set, but aside from EF27, nobody has produced anything usable.

We beat Navy easily as expected, 35-7 I think? All of the rest of our games are conference games, 3 against top 10 teams, so its going to suck from here on out. Clemson and South Alabama 1-2 in conference play, UNC 0-5. I still have Clemson and UNC left on the schedule, Clemson still travels to UNC as well.

Arrow Week 10 - Deadline is 7/26 (Sat) at 11 p.m. EST

We're on to Week 10. New sliders are in effect. One caveat - OS emphasizes that coach aggression sliders should be 50/50 for this slider set to work best, but I couldn't find a way to edit coaches in an existing OD.

The Coach aggression is mainly about play calling.
It will not effect in play game play.

That is not correct, it has a big impact to game play. Read their spiel, it explains how it works. Basically the computer does not just start going to 4 verts and screens on third downs, etc. Setting it at 50/50 or as near to that as you can get with overage on conservative, provides a wider variety of play calling from the CPU and an overall better game experience.

Best way to do it is to just change the coaches that are in the human teams opponent lists, so you don't have to do all teams at one time.

Here is a piece from their thread and the video talks about it too.

Quote:
Offense Playcall Aggression: 50/50
Defense Playcall Aggression: 50/50[/b]
*note: sometimes CPU will not exactly be 50/50; so get it as close to that as possible, but on the less aggressive side is preferred. example: 47/53 or 48/52. This way they are not so aggressive on offense with launching 4-verts or screens every 3rd down.

*The CPU offense and defense just play much better/smarter with 50/50. You are not messing with their run/pass slider so not every team is going to play the exact same if that was a concern. Try it out and you'll see how much more variety the CPU will display since they aren't going crazy with blitzes in the red zone, or 4-verts constantly on offense.*

My point was it changes the play calling but the in play dynamics are not changed. I.E it still gets rid of the robo Bo RB.

As I said it mainly effects play calling which is exactly what your quoted text supports.

Well, we kept ourselves in the game, but couldn't pull it out in the end. On the road at #6 South Carolina, we fell behind 14-0 but came back to tie it up at 14. We held them to a field goal before scoring a TD ourselves on a long drive to open the 3rd quarter, taking a 21-17 lead. We lost that quickly, down 24-21 with about half the 3rd quarter to go. That's where the lead stayed for quite some time. With 3 minutes left in the game we were on a decent drive, but ran into a 4th down and 2 at their 35 yard line. I went for it, but was stopped for just 1 yard on the off tackle run I tried, and we were done. They scored one last TD to make it 31-21.

UNC lost again, so we still aren't in last place. They're 0-5 in conference play, I'm 1-3.

Recruiting is going great, currently South Alabama has the #10 class in the nation with 4 4* recruits and 4 3* guys. We landed 5 last week after a nice win with a lot of players visiting. I believe 4 of the 8 scouted out to be in the low 70's.

Ready to advance.

Had one of the strangest plays Ive ever seen happen in this game though others would get a kick out of.

Had a 4th and goal from about the 3. Called a Shotgun off tackle run.
For whatever reason the QB doesnt hand the ball off. (Ive had this happen a few times, not sure if I am button mashing inadvertently and aborting the play call or what is happening) The RB runs the route, the DE and OLB tackle him short of the GL and get up and begin the denied waving arm motion animation...meanwhile the QB is standing at the 4 yard line with the ball outstretched to hand it off. I avoid a rushing DT and navigate him into the endzone...bizarre.

Had a 100 yard KO return and a 101 yard missed FG return (which is counted as a fumble return)

Wow, the 3rd string miracle QB finally came crashing down to earth committing 6 (that is right, 6) turnovers. No matter how set I was on my throws 9 times out of 10 he was way off the mark.

He is an amazing option QB but fumbled on one and it was returned for six.

Now I can't wait for one of my two top QB's to come back.

There's an option to save replays in game to your hard drive. They will upload automatically to the OD site.
