New Chicago Owner

Hey guys. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have taken over the Chicago Bears. Looking forward to being a member of this league. This team is bad, I mean really bad. I've got a long road ahead.

Welcome aboard! The good news is with seasons so fast and the way we handle new players entering the league, you could really have any team turned around in 2 months.

Plus you play in a division that has had at least one champion with a sub-.500 record recently, so the road can't be that long

Yes, welcome Nickelback. I wonder if I should take over the Packers my favourite team and create a rivalry. My QB has 4-6 more seasons

Can someone explain to me why Chicago has zero players under contract? I'm taking it they were on computer control? Another question is there any rules in regard to the pre-draft free agency period? I didn't see any in the rules thread.

All of FA1 is simmed in one step, and since we are at FA1:1 to start that means you can only renegotiate with existing players or make offers to your own restricted FAs. There is no draft at all, so all FA signings occur in late FA, and there you must offer at least a 3-year contract to all unrestricted FAs. Don't forget to grab any info out of the Draft Pool you want now since all those draftees will become FAs for the Late FA period.

Welcome Nickleback! I think you'll find that putting your own design on that team right from the get-go will be very fun and within 2-3 seasons (3-6 weeks real time) you'll start to see things really come together. But I won't be surprised if you have a winning season this year even with all new faces, your division is terrible
