FOOL-H News: The All-Star Game Rosters Have Been Announced
Tuesday, July 3rd, 1923: Nothing is for certain about the 1923 FOOL-Historical All-Star Game. It may be dominated by top-notch pitching performances. Or it could turn into a home run derby. Who knows? Pitch by pitch, inning by inning, the game could feature a little of both -- six strikeouts in a row by a nasty southpaw -- or a 3-homer day for some superstar slugger -- plus great catches, thrills, chills and spills -- all the great and the unexpected things that can happen in a baseball game.

This year, the American will be represented by these All-Star performers:
SP B. Hunt (DET)
SP P. Perritt (WAS)
SP C. Rogge (WAS)
SP B. Piercy (CHA)
SP F. Allen (WAS)
CL J. Park (CHA)
CL J. Rowan (PHA)

1B J. Bottomley (LOU)
SS T. Rigney (BAL)
RF G. Goslin (LOU)
CF A. Strunk (BOS)
2B A. High (CHA)
.

While the National best will be these stars:
SP L. Williams (PIT)
SP A. Sothoron (CIN)
SP D. Robertson (CLE)
SP L. Stewart (PIT)
SP J. Bush (PHI)
CL B. Hearn (PIT)
CL A. Yeargin (NYG)

The only thing for certain is that, with this group of fine all-stars, the fans will really enjoy the show.

Yay, survived the midseason swoon to grab the wildcard and finish within a game of the division!

What went on with my roster? Previous to the start of the season my roster was all set, and then I see this? How did my guys disappear off of my roster and go back to AAA even though when I updated the league file for the start of the season those guys were on the team?

Two clerical notes.

1. If you attempt to sign someone just before the season starts, the AI will sometimes automatically put said signee on your major league roster. If it's obvious, I'll move them down. But if it's not and you've got 27 or 30 or 40 guys on your roster, I don't know who to move and who not. I'll go auto and let the AI decide and move on. So it's important to make sure you're not over. If it's just one or two, I usually try to find the worst and move on, but beyond that and I don't spend much time with it. You can also send me a note in advance to give me a heads up as some do and that's usually a good way for me to know, as it'll be on my radar.

2. On the deadline, it's always in force even if I don't manage to run the file until the morning. On days when I do that, it's usually because it's late and I'm super tired and I don't want to leave it until the next day and have you all waiting a lot longer. But sometimes, super late at night, I just want to push the button on autopilot, get the final results, post them and put the file up. But I hate doing that, given how long we wait all week for the results, so that's the only reason I wait sometimes, out of respect for you all.

If you end up needing more time, just post. With yesterday, it's my bad though. I should've waited until morning to be sure, but I wasn't sure if it was just a case of people who'd made their changes the day before and were good to go or waiting for a later sim time. In the future, I'd just wait and run it later to get everyone in.

In any case, playoff results forthcoming.

Cool Papa Bell just went from an 8 to a 6 in contact in one freaking minor league season.

I hate him.

How was he when he came into the league? I think he was like 19 which being in AAA will hurt his talents. Same thing has happened to me with guys that were young coming in during the draft.

No, we don't. But its why we as a league need one. I keep hoping enough people will experience this problem and ask DC to do away with AAA and implement the reserve roster. DC fully understands the issue and is willing to go this route, but needs the league to accept it as the right course.

I'm in for the Reserve roster. I don't even follow my AAA team.

Well, we'll go ahead and switch to reserve roster. I mean, it sorta make sense historically anyway and it'll certainly make things easier to manage for owners.
