APF - Why We Still Love This Game

I know this Forum/Section doesn't have a lot of threads these days. However, after playing a game of APF last night with my Cleveland Stallions I decided to look at some of the injuries, etc.

On top of the game still being better in terms of gameplay than other football titles seven years later; I noticed this awesome little thing in the injuries section of my season mode.

I hope I'm not the only one that sees this and starts to think that the answer isn't in wanting an NFL game anymore. The NFL won't allow realistic injuries. The NFL won't allow all sorts of things (no matter if it is 2K or another developer) to be in a licensed game. So, that said... Here is an 'injury' that you will never see in an NFL licensed game.

This game was and still is an amazing football game. The details, the details, the details!

One of the only games I kept from last Gen. The player movement alone is unmatched.

Indeed. I don't even want to think about how many hours I've logged just in the practice mode...because of the details and player movements.

Although I'm able to have lots of fun with Madden25 and NCAA14, this game (APF2K8) is beautiful.

It really is sad, just sad, what 2K did to this game that was full of so much potential.

I also love that injuries in this game occur on the field in real-time.

Plus you'll occasionally get these courageous moments where a guy pulls up lame after the snap then hobbles his way downfield to still make a successful play.
