TEXAS GETS WIN #1! On Opening Day of 2013 Texas has to go into extra innings to defeat the new comer of the American League West, the Houston Astros. The Rangers struck for 4 runs in 4 innings in a row starting in the 2nd inning however the Astros would slowly creep back into the picture until in the 7th when Rick Ankiel would blast a 2 run homer off of Darvish to tie the game up. Houston had a chance to to the game against Nathan with the bases loaded however Nathan would struck out 3 in a row after loading the bases. This game would go into extras in which Texas would take the lead and not look back giving the Rangers a 1-0 record and welcoming the Astros to the American League with a 0-1 record.
