Holyfield - Williams 4RD NC

Saw some highlights of this and a brief write-up on ESPN.

Sounds like Williams used his head a lot (page right out of Evander's playbook) and caused a cut.
The fight was stopped in the 4th because Holyfield couldn't continue so it was ruled a no-contest.

But ESPN said that Williams was pounding on Holyfield in the 3rd and had him staggared.

Holyfield probably, and wisely, realized he was going to be KO'd so he used the cut to get out of the fight and try to preserve a title shot.

I wish Evander would retire. I know he needs the money, but his health is so poor and if he's getting pounded on guys like Williams, he would probably, and literally, get killed by one of the Klitscho brothers.

It's really sad. When I watch Lights Out (great show) I think of Evander, except Leary doesn't have 18 kids by 14 women, or whatever he number is. He should find a commentating gig or get trained by Bernard Hopkins, one or the other.

I know. It's sad to see what he's become. It's almost like watching "The Wrestler".

But I'm not sure he could be a commentator. His speech is so slurred he's becoming harder and harder to understand.

He obviously needs the money to support all those illegitimate kids. He keeps saying that God wants him to win the undisputed championship, but Evander must have stopped listening when God told him to stop having affairs on his wives.

As a Christian I agree. I was shocked (for some reason) when I heard about it about ten years ago. Maybe some of those kids will box or play other sports to prop up ol' dad when he's eating pudding in a home at 55, if he keeps going the way he is going.

I know this might be off topic, but as a Christian, I don't understand why he thinks God wants him to continue to get his brain bashed in.
That's why I think that claim is completely bogus. It's all about making money to afford a lifestyle he can no longer afford.

At any rate, if he can't see that he's having problems beating guys that he would have destroyed in his prime, then I don't know what will.

Imagine if he fought a true contender or a champ? He'd probably leave the ring almost completely brain damaged.

I have to believe with his name and legacy he couldn't find a job in the sport that would allow him to live comfortably.
Trainer perhaps?
