Lol. "It's too early to say. We've only had teams get passed over in 3 out of 4 years."

And 2 out of those 3 teams beat a Top 10 team for the power 5 conference in their bowl game:

Houston beat #9 Florida State 38-24

Western Michigan lost to #8 Wisconsin 24-16

UCF beat #7 Auburn 34-27

Point of clarification: while I do indeed think it's too early to say, I was making fun of owl's comment. I'm a big fan of the underdog squads. I'm not sure if my previous long-form post left that unclear. I always root for the non-P5 squad.

I was using the CFP poll since that's the only one that matters, but can at least use the other polls to show that South Florida was on the cusp of being a ranked opponent (and therefore a pretty good win).

Houston had a loss in a season where there were 6 P5 teams who also had 1 or fewer losses after conference championship weekend.
Western Michigan not only didn't play a ranked opponent, they barely played teams above .500

The only team that you could make a case for would be UCF, but there are equally compelling cases for why they did get left out.

My only issue with that is the fact that UCF and Boise St. get locked out while programs like Kansas and Tennessee get an opportunity. Doesn't seem to fair to me.

You must've mistaken me with someone that's going to argue with you.

I'm confused. Why would Kansas and Tennessee be in a G5 playoff?

IF any fan of a Big 5 school has an issue with UCF claiming a title, you could have scheduled them.
