NCAA '04 Recruiting tidbit

A guy on Maddenmania who's at E3 said that if you have a player thinking about leaving early, you can use some of your recruiting points to try and convince him to stay another year.

Very cool. I assume they have a screen to see who's thinking about leaving then.

That's cool. So I guess in the "Offseason recap", "Players Leaving" will now show 1) the graduating seniors, and 2) underclassmen thinking about leaving early. Convincing them to stay probably ties in to the whole "selling a recruit on your program" philosphy that they're putting in. I like it.

Like ot see how this works. If I have a top guy thinkingof leaving early, but in week 2 I snag the number 1 rated player at his position, might I then be less aggressive in keeping him... hmm.

any other ways recruiting has changed? They said last year that recruits would look at your playcalling/scheme and then decide. But Nebraska still got top passing QB's and top WR's.

THey had something similar in NFL 2K3, but it was pretty much just throw more money at the player and he'll stay another year. I hope this is a little more real, like if you have a guy who's rated 95+ and would be a top 10 pick, there's should be any amount of recruiiting points to can spend to keep him in school.

I think this could be bad for me. Like when my star WR won the Heisman and stayed behind I would have wasted points (unless he wasn't thinking about it)

Well if your Texas, all you have to do is offer them a million dollar minor league baseball contract, and they will stay.
