Will consecutive tackles grace NCAA 12?

this is a question that i have been asking for the last 2 years and sad to say the answer has been NO for the past two installments. however, given the major improvement (although mostly visual) i still believe that EA can somehow implement better tackling physics to include multiple (consecutive) hits. I would like to get some thoughts from the OS community in regards to this subject. Any thoughts?

This is a must...if EA wants NCAA to seem like a completely different game they need to add more things like consecutive tackles.

Re: Will consecutive tackles grace NCAA 12?

They have talked about "branching animations" and "blending" different animations to different sections of the body in the past. These things were done to allow for breaking out of tackle animations and allowing for "QB hit" animations when the QB is throwing a pass. Why can't they just make every tackle in the game capable to branching into a two-man tackle? Pro Tak is nice when appropriate, but most of the time it's not realistic. It doesn't eliminate the defenders diving to the ground when a tackle animation has already begun, and it doesn't convey the physical, violent nature of tackling at the college/NFL level. Two-man tackles utilize technology they already have in the game, eliminates the "tumbleweed" problem, and would make defense more satisfying. Personally, I'd have much more fun on defense if I could come in and tee off on someone who's fighting off another tackler. But as it stands right now, I either dive to the ground like a sniper just picked me off, or I give him a bear hug and gently place him on the ground. That's just not football.

Don't see it happening this year, or anytime soon to be honest

I think there's a small chance we'll have it this year, and by NCAA 14... I'm almost posotive we'll have it. (I hope)

It still boggles my mind that they removed consecutive tackling from Madden 08 or was it 07?

They've been using the same engine since this gen and there was no reason to remove it.

But in reality the execution of the pro-tak tackling is way better for the NCAA titles than the Madden titles.

I doubt it. From an outside perspective i don't think they have the technology to implement it. I would love to be proven wrong. Nothing is worse than seeing a CPU ball carrier go into a break tackle animation and take it the distance because I can't engage him while the other defender is.

They surely do have it. I want to know what's their excuse to not use it again?

EDIT: Watching those players running backwards to avoid defenders makes me sick to my stomach. Worst days of Madden ever
