Ratings spread.

This is badly needed in NHL. Madden, and NBA Live has it. In no way shape or form should the best team only be like 5 points better then the worst team, or a 1st line superstar only being 6-7 points better then a 4th line grinder. I would like to see team overalls in the high 60's, or low 70's, while the elite teams would still be in the high 80's. This is desperately needed in the serries.

Re: Ratings spread.

I don't necessarily agree on team overalls, but I do agree with superstar vs. top 6 vs. bottom 6.

But on the team front - we've seen this year that a bottom seeded team can beat the top teams in the NHL in a seven game series. What separates the worst team in the NHL from the best is maybe a goal or two on any given night.

Compare this to football or basketball, where the sub-par team will usually get it handed to them.

It's a mistake to make this level of disparity between the top teams and the bottom. It'll lead to repetitive online play vs the same teams (look at Madden[New England] or NCAA [Florida]). Plus it just isn't that disparate between the best and the worst.

Re: Ratings spread.

I PM'ed Jason/Redshirt about this months ago. I think it was around when 10 first came out. Didn't mention the team overalls though but I don't think those really need changing.

I just want to see a better variation because as it is right now, aside from a couple attributes like the shooting accuracies/powers, none of the attributes are below 75.

Additionally and along these lines -- I really would enjoy seeing more "ratings" that work on player tendency. This would be in addition to "player type".

Doing this would go a long way to creating differentiation for players. Are they more in-close wrister kind of guy or a booming slapshot? Do they pass more than they shoot? Do they try to create by stickhandling? Do they shy from contact or chase it down? Are they more of a physical checker or a finesse poke checker? Are they the kind of guy that will instigate? Are they divers? Will they sacrifice their body for a blocked shot or get out of the way?

Sure, certain ratings handle this aspect, but it's usually how good they are at something. But it doesn't help "create an on-ice personality".

Re: Ratings spread.

yeah, they've done that with the NBA games, I'd love to see those types of "player tendency's" in NHL 11

Re: Ratings spread.

I agree too.

The team/player ratings don't seem to have enough separation as they should...imo as well.

Re: Ratings spread.

I don't think that team ratings have to change that much, I just want to see a bigger difference in the physical ratings, and have them have a bigger impact

ie I've got a winger with 95ish speed

a 69 speed defenseman

I can't just blow past the defenseman

that's just wrong
