Defensive Tips???

Hi Everyone!

(PS3 User) Thanks in advance for any help you can bestow on me with regards to defensive tips. I'm have a really hard time staying in from of people. I'm uncertain of what buttons to to steal a pass and to steal the puck from the person skating in front of me. Please help with any tips as I'm loving the demo, just having a hard time playing defense on Allstar.

Re: Defensive Tips???

I am not sure how it translates to PS3 being a Xbox guy but:

To steal puck from someone you click "X" on PS3 controller, this will cause you to lift stick and if timed properly you will steal the puck. Make sure you do this at an angle that when you lift you will not lift into his hands/face. You want to lift when the stick is out from the body

To poke check the puck I would imagine it would be R1 (on Xbox its RB) You can aim the poke check using the right stick although it is relatively auto aimed. You want to time it so that you are not poking at the skates as you will get a tripping penalty.

As for other tips, I would recommend that as a dman you do not go for the hit especially as the offensive team is entering the zone. A good stick check is more efficient than a body check. I leave my checking to my defensive center.

More so than before you want to keep your self between the attacker and the net. You want to make sure you are not in a full skate as it will make it impossible to recover when they stop to change direction. Don't go too low beyond the goal line but do not let them get by you. Ideally (if everything is patched right) they will not be scoring from the goal line or below.

This is some tips I would offer, others may play differently, but it works for me.
