That's still way too high for most guys. No one is 96 or 97 to me, that's close to a perfect player.

I actually agree with you guys - I would rather have the highest overalls a bit lower. But you have to remember that these will be used in Franchise Mode too. EA's progression system will bring players up to 96 overall. If I made their overalls lower, then in a few short years EA will have younger guys have higher overalls than the likes of Drew Doughty. Since I think many of these players will remain the best defensemen in the world for years to come, their overalls have to be this high.

I'm trying to come up with something snarky to say about the lack of any Red Wings on this list, but I'm too disappointed to come up with anything.

The list looks legit though. Nice job. My only nitpick would be that Weber is too high. But the more I thought about where I would slot him, it would be in the 86-88 range, not much distinction from where you have him anyway.

Thanks man. I remember when I was a kid and I first started doing this, Lidstrom was constantly my #1 defenseman in the game. As they said, the best defenseman in the world was Nicklas Lidstrom. The second best defenseman in the world was whoever played next to Nicklas Lidstrom.
